Free where? It's like $649.
Depends on how good your computer is. CS3 requires a bit more than CS2 does. For a basic user, I recommend CS2. If you want to go advanced after that, get CS3. If you want to buy it, get Elements.

they are all pretty much the same... especially the CS series. so the cheapest one, cause its pretty much just the look that has changes + some smalle fixes and such..
