I just got a new mousepad with one side that grips my mouse better - for accuracy. And one side the lets it slip - for speed.

Which do you prefer?

I prefer grip for the snipin'!

I like the ones that come free with stuff. They're the best kind. That, or whatever CD case/book is handy

A one in the middle is best. Mine is slightly more on the slip side. Helps alot when in fast combat but occasionally fucks me over when sniping.

uhhh.. are you all fucking morons??

I'm pretty fucking sure the grip side of your mousepad is so that your mousepad won't go ICE SKATING all over the top of your desk..

I hate those fast mouses where you move it 1mm to the left and it flicks from the right to the left at the speed of light, followed by the mouse pointer flying out of the screen and killing you.

So, i prefer grip (precision) rather than speed (if i wanted speed i'd use my arm and whack the mouse across the mousepad, duh)

unless your mouse is kinda shitty, you can usually adjust sensitivity

Neither. I buy cheapo mouse pads (about $10 USD), I find that it works the same and doesn't make a difference.

I like those mousepads that don't make the mouse "vibrate" when you move it. I have a *dusting mousepad off* french-made (sais it in BIG LETTERS) NOVA MicrOptic WINNER mousepad. It works beter than my desk. More reliable. And desks usually tend to wear down the glides (feet) of the mouse. My old MX518's glides are all whorn down from my desk

And you should go for a mouse with changable resolution. My MX518 is like this:

1600DPI: Chopper, tank
1200DPI: Inf, other armored vehicles, solo flying
1000DPI: Chopper gunning, close-range sniping, inf
800DPI: Mid-range sniping, mid-range sniping with carbines/PKM, inf on 80+ meter
400DPI: Long-range sniping.

I think that's a good setup.
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP
