In the beginning of BF2, having a positive kd on weapons was a thing to be very proud of.. Now infantry only is very populair, and u see lots of players with absurd high rifle kd's. I dont believe its all skill, mostly getting revived all the time. Vehicle maps ftw!!

- Does Weapon KD mean anything nowadays?
KDRs never meant anything.
stats in general dont mean shit. the amount of fun you have, now THAT means something. but an imaginary award or stat that is formed by tons of coding and pixels? no. at least to me it doesnt mean shit.
nope, it might mean a little if you have like a 5.0 or something, but that might just mean you have friends reviving you all the time
POINTS is all that matters

K : D does matter to me, but not in a serious way.
I just love seeing it go up little by little.
It's like building a model. (Don't mean to sound cheesy here...)
I know what I want it to look like, and bit by bit I work on it.

Nah, especially not for players who still play vehicle maps, cuz a PKM cant do shit to a tank, and no amount of skill is going to let you win that fight.
I don't really care anymore, nowadays how well you do in bf2 is determined more by your internet connection than skill...
its driven me to quit competetive bf2 now, its just so stupid the way that game is

Stats are a fun backdrop to a even funner game.
As long as i have a knife KDR > 2, ill be happy. im slowly working my way up, i reckon thats the only weapon kdr worth looking at (oh and defibrillator )
if you play the game for only stats and for you it means something, then yes, stats are improtant.
Being the competitive kind of guy i am i love stats and have fun checking them, just as many others do. Keeping in mind that the actual game itself is made of coding and pixels, not just the stats.mafropetee wrote:

I know how I play and who I play against, and I know I'm better then most. But strictly looking at stats, mine don't even come close to the 'l33t', 'pro', 'whore' (whatever you want to call them) players, yet I'm willing to bet under similar conditions they could not or only marginally out preform me.
Excuses such as 'its my only account and I'm recovering from my 'noob' days' also means nothing. There is no way to compare players stats unless you know they play under the same conditions you do. There are just too many ways to artificially increase ones stats so they wont give an indication of skill.

in my opinion...as long as total kills are more than total deaths...youre ok....its a game...the stats feature is cool...but...its not everything.
hellz no
K|D Means something to a point, like someone said earlier if you're on a vehicle map and you're in an uncap being attacked by tanks and hellys and all you've got is a PKM, well then you're screwed to get a bad ratio.

KDR is too easy to inflate. Pilots get 70 kills in a round to say 3 deaths, commanders get similar ratios of 20 + kills to no deaths, so how can you compare KDR when they can be inflated so easily?
There is only one way to prove that KDR is an effective indicator for the skill of the player and that is to strip out anything in the game that can artificially inflate KDR, zero the stats and all you will left with is you knife and pistol.

Weapon ratio are probably the most important of all the ratios because it tells how well a player is with a weapon in their hand. Vehicle and kit ratios can be distorted because of being the commander.
i used to care about my stats, and now i dontmafropetee wrote:

Stats don't mean shit to me.
My effectiveness on the battlefield on the other hand does.Exemple : If i finish with 4 kills 10 deaths but i captured the most flags for my team then i'm going to be satisfied.I very rarely get a negative KDR though since i'm a tank whore

lol - all these playas sayin' KDR means nottin, stats mean nothin'. So stand out in the open, don't hide It's like playas sayin' "it's only a game" when their asses get kicked. Well if it's only a game, there's an excuse not to play well on purpose, but who ever plays badly on purpose, or goes out to ruin their own stats or KDR. If you have ever defended your personal KDR by hiding or defending yourself - you are invested in it like it or not ^^
Peace.
Peace.
