Bf 2 (Help - computer shuts down after BF2 menu appearing)

ok so when u go on to the were it shows the video you can see the menu but then its goes berserk and shut off my computer and i meet all the requirements
WHAT THE HECK IS WRONG WITH IT

Anyway, why don't you try reinstalling the game and reinstalling patch 1.41?
Also, turn off other progrms before you start the game.

i've done that except then it says windows has recovered from a serious error would you like to uninstall the game

When something strange happens to my computer when running any program, I tend to get paranoid and run the antivirus. I never know if it's the case, but hey, it doesn't really hurt to try.

I've never had anything like that happen to me, so the only other advice I can give is to try and reinstall/repatch. Good luck.

hmm... if it's shutting down your PC it sounds like a hardware issue.

Please post your specs. In particular your CPU, video card, RAM, mainboard and PSU specs.

Since you say that you have just installed it and never successfully played it, this is also my first thought ... the intro videos will play on most any video card, I believe, but incompatible video cards will cause the program to crash to desktop after these videos.

My biggest question is "What is your video card?"

It would help if you posted the exact card, and RAM. Some cards still have issues with BF2. (actually, DICE may have ironed these out by now, but knowing them...enough said)

there was a power surge in my neighborhood and my computer was the only thing it hit + my big screen tv now i have to use a 14 in. moniter
