I use nod32, used Norton previously but got rid because it took so much CPU time.

F-Secure, since I get it for free.
Haha, did you install the backup file stuff that it comes with?Zimmer wrote:
I hate Norton. It never EVER uninstalls right. They always keep some shit on your hard drive, running silently. Then when you use a program it doesnt like, it pops up again. I had to re-format my hard drive to get rid of it. Such a shit program.KILLSWITCH wrote:
Bullguard.
Anyone who uses Graham Norton should uninstall now.
I do scans, keep a tab on what programs are running. every so often check my hardrive to see what files have changed or had thier modification dates updated.
That, and I use a firewall on my D-Link Router, and on my computer, I set my computer's firewall to "complete fucking anal asshole mode" which is a pain in the ass, but keeps shit out. I download at a minimum, and keep the Harddrive empty.
But, I do have another computer, which I do the same shit to, but its old and I do whatever on it and if it gets raped...meh oh well.

I have CheckPoint ZoneAlarm but it is turned off majority of the time. ZoneAlarm interfiors when the BF2 map loads thus making the load time longer. I turn ZA on when I go to the Internet or after playing BF2...run a quick scan or update the A/V file.
Avast. Used to use Norton.
it looks like avast is still pretty popular
if I'm fixing/reinstalling windows on anyones PC I allways install Avast , cause it free.
i have tried AVG and it kept making Internet explorer crash.
I Just plain hate Norton, how much memory and how many processes does it need ffs !
I used a cracked version of NOD32 (free updateds til 2011 !), i thought that was good but again would crash a lot (probably because of the crack)
I finall bought an antivirus and I wens for..... Kaspersky, I think its great, you wouldn't even know it was running, and can be very advanced if you want it to be (detects/stops changes to your registry if you want). well worth the $29 a year

hmmm .... Symantec AV is not listed (not talking about norton).
Norton 360.
Well,I recently read an article on PC world about the best anti virus programms etc.I think it was like 1)Karspersky 2)NOD32 3)Panda and 4)Norton.They said karspersky was the best in detecting unknown threats and eliminating emm,but it cause a bit lag. NOD32 would be a solution for gamers because it does not uses too much CPU and no lag is caused.Well i use panda. It was installed in my pc when i buyed it so i wont bother to buy a new one.It does a good jobZimmer wrote:
I use NOD32; it may not be the most intuitive, but it is by far the best. Barely any CPU usage, fast, clean and simple. It is probably one of those anti-viruses that are for the more advanced users. The ones who know what they are doing.
If you don't, then Kaspersky is the best bet.
avast ftw
I use Avast, it was the first one I ever used, so yah... it is also free and that fits my budget very well.
Avast + Ad-Aware + Spybot = clean!
