I have a Creative Zen V 1GB that is supposed to hold at least 500 songs. Mine has about 190 and it can't hold anymore. When I change the audio type from a song from .mp3 to .wav or .wmv, the songs are still the same size. My friend told me that he changed the type of music files on his mp3 player and it held a whole lot more. Why isn't it working?
Also, what format should I make the songs?
what is the average file size of one of your songs?

if you got songs that lasts forever, like 20-30 mins, they take a lot of space... but if you got songs that last for like 1-3 mins... youv'e done something wrong....
my guess is that you have a couple of wmw files that play the music, but not the video. Find the files over 10 mb and erase them
Good quality song files can be up to 10 mb. For ex. I have just about 150 songs on this rig, accounts for 635 mb.
It is only a 1gb player. The amount of songs it will hold will depend on the bitrate of the music. Normally 1 minute of music at 128 bitrate is 1mb of space, if I'm not mistaken. So in theory your player can hold 1000 minutes. Most newer songs have a bit rate higher than 128, which means 1 minute of music will be more than 1mb of space. Reducing your bitrate would free up more space, but would also degrade the quality of the sound.

I do my mp3s at 192kbps (ripped though good ol' Windows Media Player) and my 1GB player packs in about 10 hours of music
I think that's well over 200 songs so i'm not sure whats wrong with yours.
