Not necessarily. The goal of a logo is to communicate to your audience, and sometimes "standing out" isn't the best way to go about it. Also, type which is too bold or whatever wouldn't work because logos should work at small sizes as well as large, and if bold type is too bold, it screws up at small. Then there's loads more issues like printing.But isn't that the goal of a logo/brand? To stand out from the rest?

lol - what I meant is that the font simply looks ugly, because it's blotchy. In any color but black, the filled in os might have worked out better - but in black, as I said, it's just too blotchy.Bernadictus wrote:

For one, it was an actual logo, and a very good one at that. The font was "punk", as in 1970's punk (Sex Pistols / Clash - London Calling <-- get it? ), so it worked also. In other words, it represented three things, IMO. The old/traditional (Olympic Games), the sports aspect (look at the logo for a while, it's a running person) and something that personifies the location (the text - London-punk font).
