There is one post at EA forums about this also. They said that everything will be back to normal on Monday.
I think they're preparing their servers for a new patch and the "official" release of Highway Tampa.

It bothers me that EA can`t seem to understand the importance of communicating with their customers.
Each time the stats servers crash the panic break out and people start new treads like crazy - which is completely understandable, so much of this game is tied in with specific IAR requirements and time spent playing to obtain certain medals and ribbons.
The thought of spending tens of hours playing your best and not receiving the medals, ribbons and ranks you have worked hard for turns people off.

They have let their customers know via their message boards on easports.com. Naturally they're not going to post immediately with something like "OMFG KK UR ALL TELLIN US UR STATS R NOT UPDATIN WE'LL C WATZ WRONG M8!!11!!!!!1 (Y) (Y) (Y)". I got my medal of valor months ago, it kept showing up if I joined a server, then over the last few days it gives me the award...5 seconds later it comes up again.... *rollseyes*
I noticed there was no update for a while. I just never wonered why till today.

Asside from the various problems, bf2 is so much fun. 2142 is great too.
If people would stop thinking they got to be the best and just enjoy the fact that they can play an action packed game with their friends, they would be much happier. Stats mean nothing but they are a fun addition to the game. Just wait it out and keep playing if you think it's fun.
