I agree it is good for multiple targets at close range. But against one its better just to go bolt and just shoot them in the head. If you are even remotely good (even with bf2 hitboxes) you should get headshots.

I'm sorry, but thats egotistical bs.At long ranges the bolt actions do have a greater advantage, but again if that advantage is used comes down to the shooter. I'd like to see you try and even get ONE shot off, never mind whether it hits or not, against someone from a clan like [iB], Dc*, or +.plus flying around like a rabbit on steroids. It's just not plausible.

All those clans are dead btw (except for +plus who arnt competing in 10v10)

Bolt action, I find, is heaps better than the SVD. I can pull off headshots easier with the bolt action because a) I hate the SVD cross hair and b) the l96 is just so much better.

At close range with bolt, its just as easy as using the svd. I can shoot them in the chest and pull out my pistol quicker than I can fire 3 bullets at the target with SVD.

Every situation, dont make me laugh ... you would get raped on any map with view over 250 meters.

Headshots faster ... where the hell do you come up with this crap. The bullet travels a 1000 m/s for all Sniper Rifles. If both fire at the same time, over the same distance, you will both hit the mark at the same time (ping / lag omitted ofcourse).

I pretty much play SF IO exclusivly now, and the SVD destroys Ghost town.
Definately more handy than a bold action when you spawn and there is a couple guys in front of you, capping your flag...

If you can hit long distance targets with a G36C and a G36E then SVD Should be no problem.

I prefer the Auto-Snipers because I tend to miss alot , I blame my Canadian Ping playing on California Server.

But anywho... On many occasions having a Dragonov or a Type-88 instead of a Bolt Action Rifle has saved me on the Battlefield.

ex. To deliver 2 quick body shots against a Nearby target. Which in this case having a shorter scope helps.

I snipe with the SVD from miles away. Gatehouse to suburb shots ftw.

The WOoKies changed the server from Wake > Warlord couple of days ago. Its still out there only SF now

You got it, Type-88 and SVD provide totally different roles for the sniper kit.

I didn't intend for this to be a "who's a better sniper and who's opinion is more credible thread" but whatever, I still like to hear what anybody has to say. I still can't decide which I like more between the SVD and the L96. I generally am a Karkand whore, and with the many corners and fog, the shorter ranged scope of the SVD seems more practical for the urban setting. Sometimes I'll go 15-12 or something with the SVD and then switch to the L96 and got 33-3 and vice-versa. It just depends on the situation of the flags and such. I just prefer the semi-autos becuase of the fact that you can shoot multiple times and stay scoped in. I really don't like the M95 unless I plan on camping the airfield to keep noobs out of the heli and J10. Well that's my 2 cents.

a) Ive seen you play and therefore respect points to you
b) your not intent on making people that arent of the same opinion as you on the rifle are noobs
