I was chatting with a fellow player, and he was telling me that you could earn the IAR badges without doing the IAR requirements. like say if you get 50 knife kills before you can get 7 IAR, you get the badge. Why the hell dosent they post this if this is true? I will find out in 3 kills or not. I been fighting hard for my knife badge, and getting disappointed. (I really want the First Sgt. rank) But any clarification on this would be helpful. Thanks!
Huh. Wtf does your friend mean? 50 kills global total, then once you hit 7th kill IAR you get it. What so hard to understand?
I think he was trying to say if you get 50 kills but not 7 IAR you still get the badge.
That's not true. I had over 150 explosives kills before I got my Basic Explosive Ordinance.
Don't know if it's true, but I think that is what he is saying.
Thats exactly what he was saying, any truth to this?usmarine2005 wrote:

Hell if i know, I don't pay attention to that stuff, I just run around and noob toob people.
im like 8 away from 50. but then once i hit 50. then i have to have 7 knifes IAR to earn my Vet Knife
I think if you get just 100 kills you get the vet badge as well...dankassasin42o wrote:

Nope this is certainly not true. I had over 50 global kills with the knife long before I finally got 7 IAR. At that point, when I finally did get 7 kills IAR, I received both the basic and vet knife badges.

Nope I had like 70 knife kills I didn't get my basic knife badge. The 50 knife kills are the total kills needed to get the Veteran Knife badge. But if you have 50 or over and dont have neither Basic or Vet and you get the IAR requirement, which is 7, you will get both vet and basic at the same time, like I did. Check it out on UBAR man. Here's the link just scroll down to Knife Combat Badge.d3v1ldr1v3r13 wrote:

Ehh, I don't know if that is the case.
It really isn't too hard to get both of the badges though. You just really have to commit yourself to it.
On the knife badge, you need to fight only with the knife, don't pull out your main weapon at any time. I took that same advice from someone and tried it for one round. Little over halfway into the round I had my 7 kills. Sometimes you can just run up and stab people in the face, other times you have to be alittle more covert about it. Heck, I only have 16 kills with the knife total. So it can't be that hard. I earned the knife badge on Wake around the airbase and beach flags.
On the pistol badge, I found it was easier to get the badge with the silenced pistol. I played sniper on Sharqi and I'd say 4 of the kills I got one shot in the chest with the sniper rifle then pulled out the pistol and finished them off before they had a chance to spot my position. I worked the rooftops, chased down those in pursuit of my teams players, layed in wait. Took many approaches to getting my kills. It was easier for me to get hits without looking down the sights too. Just put the crosshairs on the enemy and fire as fast as you can click away on the mouse. I can't stress enough that you must fire as fast as possible. Like the knife badge, the pistol badge wasn't hard at all. Took me one round apiece to earn both of them when I committed myself to the task.

7 kills IAR to get basic , 50 kills w/knife & 7 kills IAR for vet , 100 kills w/knife & 18 IAR for your expert.
I notice sometimes it takes a few more kills to kick in the new badge , like for the ordinace badge says you need only 13 kills with the c4/mine/claymore, I got my around 23 kills, the basic badge that is.
The main thing that helps getting badges is perseverance & patience.

You got your Basic Explosives with 23 kills in that round but only 13 explosives kills. Blown up vehicles that kill someone doesn't count as an explosives kill e.g. you put 5 C4s on a vehicle and crash it in a tank causing the C4 to explode, the driver and the machine gunner gets killed by your C4 but the 2 n00btubers standing on the other side near the tank getting killed by the tank. You get credited for the kill, since it was you who blew up the tank but it doesn't count towards your explosives badge.
Answer: because it's b*ll*cks. And you're a troll. And I'm going to get some lunch now, seeya.d3v1ldr1v3r13 wrote:

Not true. I need to get my Veteran Explosives Badge as well as my Expert Knife Badge.
Hmmm. I got my 7 kills AFTER I got 50 kills with my knife and all I have is Basic Knife Combat Badge.
Not true.. nuff said
Maybe his friend meant:
"If you have the global requirements but not the former Badge yet you can get both (or all three) in the same round"

Not true, I have 50 knifings and no badge. (Not that I tried)

Ha ha. I got Vet knife today. I announced that I was only going to be using a knife and everyone came rushing at me to get easy kills. But when they did, I had C4 blocks in place to blow them up. Unfortunately, no Explosive Ordinance Badge.
Still managed to get 7 kills IAR too!

Um I used all claymores to get my badge, not c4 so there goes that theory...
