The thing is, with 9/11 the US had a lot of sympathy from the rest of the world. Then Bush really fucked it up. That was a lot of international goodwill, that was totally squandered. I don't know how he's managed to make such a mess.GunSlinger OIF II wrote:

What troubles me more though is the fact the today's young people are going to be influenced by that and once this generation because tomorrows leaders, they are going to take with them the same bad sentiment that seems to be so popularly shared and use that as their view on the Unite States.Bertster7 wrote:

Opposing the majority of the world, which the US do all too frequently, is another thing that detracts from America's international image.
One man cannot change 230 years of progress, trials or errors. Bush is just not that savvy.

I dont hate America. Not at all.
America is a newer country than most and so enables fresh thinking with new ideals and so has the determination to make it self better as a whole.
Unfortunately you will always get people picking hole in any country.
I have seen tons of comments and videos ripping it outta England yes it does make my blood boiling some times but i just laugh it off in the end.

America rocks!
and that right there is the anger I have with my society as a whole. We allowed him as a people to get there. but, like Im always reminding myself, we try to be quick to fix our mistakes and from what I can see it looks like my country has figured it out for the most part. IM just riding my "Just wait and see attitude" till the wheels fall off. thats the only choice i have. I would rather be part of the solution instead of getting on the "Hate Bush, Hate America" band wagon that even a lot people I know and have good relations with seem to be on. Its just really popular to hate bush, and easy. Dont let 8 years of bullshit undo 230 years of progress is what I say, people should generally be smarter than that.Bertster7 wrote:

You can live a much much better life in the U.S.A with say, $200,000 than you can in the UK with £100,000. 100G's in the UK will get you nowhere.
Good thing we never chose the Euro eh?Noobpatty wrote:

Thank you. The first post aimed at me that has been objective in months. I try to keep out of these threads, as like you, I have seen them before. Same old, Same old.usmarine2005 wrote:

This argument will never go away. It will always be my country is better than yours, no mine is better than yours!
Could everyone just STFU, and get on wit the important stuff. You know, money, life, family, friends, cars. (In no particular order )
not from America,
its a great place with lotsa great people (hell, TMo is nice even)
but just like the rest of the world, a few bad apples always seem to grab the big headlines and spoils the general image/ reputation etc..
there will also be haters and nay-sayers, fact of life, imo.

I've realised this since I was born, and if nobody else can see this then you truly are blinded by the media.Hurricane wrote:

I hate the stupid Americans, the ones that are too patriotic for their own good, the ones that think they own the world, the ones that think they won every war they have ever fought without any help, the ones... you get my drift.
I do not hate every American, and in fact I am likely going to attempt to come to America to sudy Pharmacy, rather than in England, simply because it IS a better standard of life.
Oh, and I also hate how you pronounce Aliminium
