game-monitor.com, the servers have been rapidly shrinking.
the first page, with top 30 most-populated BF2 servers...#30 server has 7 people in it.

And, no, that doesn't mean BF2 is dying.
And it doesn't mean your stats have been reset. Although if you hack/glitch/pad, you should be nervous. And ashamed.
But it probably means EA or gamespy are doing server maintenance...check back soon.

Ahh, see I was playing 2142 a while ago and I had spent approximatly five minutes stalking this one enemy soldier in order to steal his dogtags. I had been hiding in craters, behind walls etc. Finally he got into an AA and I used his blindspot and ran up to him, crept around the side for the optimum knife-kill spot and...

Disconnected from EA master server.

Well that's just great. It was so perfectly timed it was almost a cliche.

the Hamster At EA hath fallen of teh wheel, please stay calm in this time of crisis while our EA staff whore up some 2142 because we are the only retards that play that shit, our janitor is currently lubing up the hamsters wheel (the god damn thing squeaks uncontrollably probably due to 1.41) in the mean time play some 2142 because all 9 of us people playing 2142 really would like at least one full server in the world

Thanks, I forgot about that. I actually did watch it before I read about it. And no, I was wrong, cant log into any BF2 or mod/ expansion.

gah 99% of em are MT tho, at least all the ones for me with pings under 80. guess still bit of a waiting game, cmon wake up people

LOl of 761 IO servers, only 60 were popululated, and 40 of em had one person in em, omg its 2142!!!! lol
