I say your thread is BS because the SEALS are spec. operations and so therefore most if not all missions are deemed classified. I personally think the is all just BS because the SEALS would not disclose any information about any mission no matter what because that would be considered espionage/treason. Even if they are navy pukes they still understand the right about classified information.
Believe whatever you want to believe buddy. . .I am not forcing this information down your throat!

I am putting this TRUTHFUL information out for everybody, its well within your rights to rebuke it as you wish.

As I have said to the other nay sayers, I will be happy to respond to a pm if you would like more information.

But I am not blowing smoke up anyones ass, that would be a waste of mine and your time!

IM not gonna pretend I know better. But having SEALS go into Iran would see mto be an act of war and I doubt any SEAL would reveal this information TO ANYONE if he or she were assigned to such a mission.  If this were to come to light globally, it would spark a huge mess....
/agree... he wouldnt have released this information, he wouldnt have even been told this until he was almost there

A few thoughts, haven't read the whole thread, but I just thought might be worth thinking about:

First of all, the SAS have been captured thing. Iran desperately wants and needs international support so that they can get everyone off their asses about their power station/bomb, depending on what you think. If they did indeed capture SAS members, the first thing they'd do would be stick them on tv. Also, I doubt very much that they'd release them once they'd been told whatever info it might be. The SAS would know this, and know that telling wouldn't get them anywhere. SEALs, SAS, Delta Force, whoever; they will all be trained for this kind of thing using very similar techniques, so training with the SEALs wouldn't help them any more than training at home.

Then the rest of it:

Steve, I'm confused about your attitude with this. You're saying that the info is coming from his dad, who he tells everything to. That would include secret info. Seeing as I cannot find anything on any news source about US troops inside Iran, I'd say that's fairly secret. You say telling us this isn't a big deal, but if it is secret, which it sounds like, then this isn't a good idea. Being inside Iranian territory could start a war, and I figure you don't want to get your buddy hurt cause the Iranians find out he's there do you? Sure, I think everyone has suspicions that US troops have been on reccie's in to Iran, but that's very different to someone saying they have info that SEALs are inside Iran.

The only thing that I can think of is that he means he's stationed on a Navy ship off the coast of Iran. I still think the SAS thing is bullshit though, it doesn't make sense.
Anyway, just trying to keep the debate constructive here, not flame you or criticize.

interesting to see the US propaganda machine working so effectively. "Most US citizens are under the impression Iran is creating Nuclear Weapons!"
But thats a debate for another thread and everyone is entitled to their own opinion in the matter. If SEALS or any Spec Op's troops where caught in Iran this would be seen as an act of aggression and I would hope America could explain its self, not that it has to anymore (Iraqi Debacle!). Again this is for another thread and another time.

In all honesty the information that has been provided here could not hold to much relevance purely for the fact that information like this is not given to the officers and soldiers on the mission. As many of the people have stated here the Seals would only receive this information once they where on the Sub or Air craft carrier.  And not before leaving the country for the mission you can ask anyone that has served in the armed forces when there is a black ops mission no one knows anything until the last minute.

Christ, the same people who advocated nuking the largely peaceful nation of Iran because some of its officials were invited into Iraqi by the democratically elected government of Iraqi, shrug this kind of news off as being irrelevant.

I call double standards gentlemen, your bias is on show for all to see....................you know who you are.

If the Americans are in there, then you can bet that the British are too, which paints the international incident only a month or so ago in a different picture than the coalition led us to believe.

No, I have a feeling that the sailors captured were just that. Common bogstandard sailors and not part of "Operation uber secrets lolz"

No self respecting special forces person would sell their stories to tabloids for 6 figure sums unlike the fools that got captured by the Iranians.

Yep...  so much for this idea that terrorism is BAD.

We're only against terrorism that goes against our interests.  Terrorism that serves our interests is fine with our government.

The American Revolution itself began as terrorism as well.  Granted, we didn't have anywhere near the kind of explosives that exist today.

A CIA spokesperson said "the account of alleged CIA action is false" and reiterated that the U.S. provides no funding of the Jundullah group.
And the in other news

Jundullah, a Baluchi tribe, raided an Iranian town a couple of hours ago. Witness reported F-22's and M1A2 tanks being used by the Jundullah tribesmen. A CIA spokesman dismissed the allegations as "swamp gas"

These Jundullah guys are gonna stab you guys in the back one day. They still haven't learnt about trusting these tribesmen have they?

Nope...  oh well...  I guess we should expect another 9/11 eventually.

We'll continue to make enemies in ill-conceived plans to change the world, when we're better off minding our own fucking business.  Whatever happened to the idea of increasing DOMESTIC security?...  damn it...

F-22s? Lol. All Raptors currently in service are either undergoing testing and are based in the US/Japan.

I gotcha. . . .

Mike C.(Navy Seal) doesnt tell his dad everything at all!  He was telling his dad this info on the SAS guys cause he didnt want to go to Utah to have to train these guys!! He wanted to stay in San Diego with his unit/wife/baby! Who the hell wants to leave your wife and baby to retrain guys who fucked up in a foreign country??

Thats how Mike Sr. got wind of the SAS guys training with the Seals in Utah. . . .

When Mike left for Iran, he didnt tell anyone for 3 1/2 weeks after he left!! He called his dad and said "Im deployed to Iran, call you when I can".  THATS IT! They just get up and go when they are asked to do so!  Those next of kin have to wait to find out where their loved ones are sent, if they are told at all.  There were no details given on where he was, what he was doing etc.  All was said was a minute conversation letting his dad know where he is! His dad is a military man himself, has a very close relationship to his son, and Mike told his dad that he was gone to Iran. . . .thats it.

You and I can assume all day where he is, you/I flat out dont know what the SEALs are up to!. . . . bottom line is the only people who know where Mike and his unit are, is the Pentagon/Centcom.  Safe to say they aren't talking. . . .

Ok that clarified it a little more, and does make sense, however even telling him that they are in Iran would be a big deal. I mean, it's hardly like they are an allied country that they'd just be hanging out in is it? Being inside Iran could start a war. But I appreciate that you don't really know much more than I do, so all we can do is speculate. Interesting to know though.
