I used to, but bf2 is getting shitty, i just play unranked mainly now, everytime i play pubs i leave within the first round because of tkers, hackers, noobs etc.
Once I hit 60,000 I lost all interest. I haven't checked mine in a few months.
I couldn't care less if I tried.
♥
At the start, yes. But now, after going through 2142 earning awards every second, they are meaningless to me. Even stuff like the WCR and NASR. I quit 2142 and have a BF2 'fun' account which is fantastic.
Meh i don't care all that much.
But i do like my Score per minute stats on a few of my accounts.
If i was wiped today, i wouldn't care, i'd just start over again. Most people know me for what i do (Inf whore), not for how many points/awards i have.

One of the biggest reasons I play BF2 is because of the ranks/awards. Before, I played CS and the big difference is that you've got something to show for all the time you've spent playing. Yeah, it's more realistic than CS and a lot better quality of play, but it's also huge and takes for ever to load. The whole stats thing was what made me prefer BF2 over CS in the long run. Plus, its pretty fun to try and get all sorts of awards. It keeps the game from being monotonous, at least for me.
Im not too bothered, good to keep track on how well your doing on a certain weapon or whatever. Awards aren't too much of a problem I don't try for them desperatly I'll have a go at getting a certain one and if not try again some other time.
So the people here who make new accounts for inf etc aren't doing it for the stats? yeah...

no, bf2 sucks now.
I'd be lying if I said I didn't care, but they don't dictate my life.
I make new accounts for hackusations and for spying on clan members. Funny thing the account usually ends up with some high stats.DooM wrote:

I like pretty shiny awards, I'd like to get to an officer rank just because they look nicer.
Oh and my shock-paddle KDR, I've been working on that for a while, I've got it from 0.177 > 0.7045, I'd like to get it positive, but that's just a personal achievement as only recently I've realised the joy of shock-paddling people. Especially if they pull a knife on you.

Stats for BF2 does not equal my e-penis.
Stats = Reference of self for benchmarking and improvement.
In sports they are a commodity and readily used by prospective teams and organizations. In the pro-gamer world they ARE used for contracts and sponsorships.
I've tracked my stats since Unreal Tournament for the simple sake of pride and my competitive nature. I want to do better than I did before pure and simple. Stats facilitate that quite well.

ya they r shiny
I care. Especially since I want to get to Sgt. Major so bad.
I've only ever cared about my K/D. It was my goal for the first 6 months that I played BF2. (from when I started playing I wanted an average of 2:1 for infantry, which I had two months in, then 3:1, which I had at after those 6 months, now I aim for no deaths in vehicles and 8:1 for infantry)
If you dont care then why do you pad?The_Killer wrote:

Not much, but i like my awards.
~ Do you not know that in the service … one must always choose the lesser of two weevils?
hell yeah, my e-penis must be fed
As a convert from CSS I have to say the stats and rank became the appeal. Now that's not the only reason why I play BF2, the team play is better and vehicle integration adds depth to the game. Whats funny is CSS tries to keep a stats component in play such as HLstatsx. When we ran the server that became an obsession with most of the players. So stats do play a large part in the game as some people like myself enjoy accomplishment even if its just a game.
Once you hit officer, stats don't gain you anything in the game (other than commander priority). It is odd how I come back and check my total points from time to time. I guess I only really care if I have bragging rights with more points than my friends who play the game too.
I am the type that would rather Jihad in a Vod against stat-padding tank whores, spec-ops it and snipe from a high roof top down on nade-spammers on I/O FF/off servers, or lone wolf attack the whole clan squad. Stat padding is easy and boring.. it's more fun taking on a challenge and being the fly in the ointment ;-)

you forget to add : I use to, not anymore
this would be my answer

My stats suck too much to be too obsessed with them......but I can't say I wouldn't be a bit bugged if they got wiped.
