EMO = Shit rock and roll from a bunch of pansy suburb raised kids who didn't get the N64 when everyone else had one. But thier parents didn't hit them when they bitched moaned piss and cried about it. Instead, they let the little boogers go dye thier hair jet black, let it grow down to thier chin, then they walk around the mall with thier other spoiled brat fucking friends with a scowl on thier makeup lathered faces. Then they want to bitch to Dr. Phil that no one understands them because someone looked at them funny at the mall.

I mean go figure; you dress like a clown and people are going to laugh at you.

Now they even get paid good money to appeal to other wannabe suicidal fuckwads through 'punk rock' music known as emo. THis shit is not punk. This shit is no talent garbage.

See this picture?

Thats your future America.

See these guys?

They didn't get the shell toe Adidas in high school so they started wearing makeup and cutting themselves.

Look, children, we know you have issues. Everyone does. Its called life. The only difference is, regular everyday Average Joe people deal with it. They do what they have to do to make life work for them.

You EMO's on the other hand, seem to want some sort of sympathy for all the hardships you've endured through your whopping 16 years of life. Get a fucking job, leave the makeup to the girls, and put the high heal boots away you pansy's.

Oh and this cut yourself shit you guys have going on, please stop missing the artery. Just fucking do it. Slice that shit. That would save alot of people alot of headaches.

For you emo's who want to cry that its about being different and us squares can't handle that. Your wearing a fucking dog collar. Your different alright. No one is disputing that.

Sorry. Boring Friday morning rant.

I concur....kinda.  Obviosly its just a trend like when I was a teenager the "alternative" thing was hot with the wallet chains, green or blue hair, and flannel shirts.  Before that was the tight jeans and Aquanet hair from the 80s.  It all comes and goes.  Personally, I think its just a huge marketing machine where one person(usually  a celebrity) gets the ball rolling and then everybody jumps on board.  Bands are mostly to blame, but they are probably just pawns in the whole grand scheme.  Take Green Day for instance; they practicly started the "grundge" trend, and now they have evolved into "emo" trend.  AFI (or My Chemical Romance, i cant tell them apart. whoever that is in the pic) is just a part of big plan to sell all the merch to spoiled kids that you reference; so in that sense; i agree.

God I hate emo kids. Sad thing is, I know a few girls who think emo kinds are hot.

So then I call them lesbians because they are willing to sleep with guys that look like girls.

Meh, people had similar complaints/worries about the ravers and grunge kids in the '90s, the skaters in the 80's, punks in the '70s, hippies in the '60s, beatniks in the '50s, etc. There's always been some "weird" group of kids trying to get everyone's attention. They'll either grow out of it or kill themselves.

Whoops, didn't mean to basically repeat what you said. Guess I shoulda read your post first. The only thing you got wrong is that Green Day was never even close to grunge, they were like the NSync of punk. Grunge was Pearl Jam/Nirvana/Soundgarden type stuff.

i totally agree that emo is a worthless attempt at making music. unfortunatelly afi fell victim to it... their first couple records were kickass hardcore punk. it all went downhill with "sing the sorrow".

Were you raped by a band of emo's as a child? Sounds like you have some anger towards them. But, I do agree w/ everything you said.

Green Day started the grunge trend? You're kidding right? Most people would say bands like Nirvana and Mudhoney did that, and others would point to bands like The Sonics who were making noisy abrasive music in the Sixties. Green Day are defiantly pop-punk, and have remained so, even though their new stuff is horrible compared to their old stuff, and their old stuff was only appealing 'cos I was 12 at the time.

Emo bands suck, and they stole wearing girls pants from At the Drive-In. At least the 'fro trend didn't carry on.

The only Emo I love is the one who gets annihilated thinking he is hardcore (not the genre) by going to a slayer concert, walking into the pit (being used to shitty MCR pits) and getting absoloutely Annihilated (Annihilator also being a good band for this example).

At this point you can see the fear in his eyes as huge metalheads come crashing down on his pathetic, long black haired head.

Oh the enjoyment I felt on wednesday when I went to see Annihilator.

I used Green Day as an example because of their longevity; its just an example of a band that has been involved with more than one trend.  They began in 1989 (before Nirvana hit the scene) and helped break ground for the bands of that generation.  I realize they're not your typical Seatle band.  Im trying to point out the change from "big hair bands" in the 80s to the "alternative" in the 90s; i think that Green Day had tremendous influence on this change ( along with bands like Scream, The Mudhoneys, The Melvins, Nirvana, etc..).  Bands like Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, and Alice and Chains came along after the road had already been paved.

I have a few gripes about it.

First and foremost, taking the checkerboard design from ska and calling it their own. Two tone is not emo. These emo fags need to get rid of all their checkerboard shit if they don't listen to ska. These motherfuckers don't even know what it means or where it originated.

The 'fashion' is fucking retarded. Long, badly styled hair dyed black and tight pants and shirts, not to mention the make up.

Emo as we know it is not actually emo.
Real emo bands = Sunny Day Real Estate, Braid, Cursive, etc.
