Post pictures of whatever instrument you have whether it be a guitar, drums, trumpet or anything and we'll all make comments.

They're nice if you're a heavy player, cause not matter what you do they will not break. They're an aluminium stick, which then has a plastic shell for the bit that does all the hitting, so you won't damage your cymbals. You can also replace the plastic shell if you managed to crack that. They're also supposed to reduce vibrations that go into your wrist or something like that. The only downside is that they're very heavy and so harder to play fast tech stuff with, but the thinner ones like the Joey Jordison signatures are lighter and much easier to do that with. The Lars ones (which I have) are thick as hell. I love them dearly.

This will be my next acquisition, hopefully in the next few months. Already have the cash saved, it's going to be my end of College term treat ...a Chapman Stick:

according to those bass sticks, you´re a above average player I might say!

@Ghetto: my drummer was thinking about those sticks too. If I understand you, they are pretty good for intense playing/metal drumming right?!

They're great for everything from hard percussive bass technique to nice clear classical lead bass. I think I'm going to opt for the 8 string Bass stick myself, which is configured specifically for those transferring from Bass guitar. I've been playing bass and fretless bass for the last 11 years and do a lot of tapping so it shouldn't be too painful a transition. They have a dual pick-up system that allows you to process each pickup separately (e.g. effects on 4 strings and clean on the other 4)

Yeah they are, but if he's into fast tech type stuff, he shouldn't get the Metallica ones, they're very thick. But yes, all the AHEAD stuff is very good. They last so much longer than regular sticks.

not in general! Depends on the style you want to play. Some riffs/chords are easy on a electric and hell on a accoustic guitar and vice versa.
