When was the last time you lived in Ramadi? Never? How about Iraq? Never? How about any Arabic country? Never? Have you lived outside of your home country? So you're saying that you sitting at home know more about the situation there, and that HE is the delusional one?

Edit: Overriding a personal story with a mass media story? +1 for delusion.
I travel a lot and have been to Palestine, Morocco, Jordan, Israel and Turkey in the middle east and I lived in the US for four months at one point. Are you seriously disputing the validity of the story about the car bomb in Ramadi?? Would it help if I posted a Fox News link?

Um, could someone relink to this story. The original post now links to a story about a man chopping off his own penis in a restaurant..... Which is probably more interesting than a story about Iraq, now that I think about it.

DEEP PAIN PIZZA: MAN 'CUT OFF HIS OWN PENIS IN RESTAURANT'
Mon Apr 23 2007 20:01:12 ET

A man chopped off his penis with a knife in front of horrified diners at a busy restaurant.

Police were called to Zizzi, in The Strand, London, at 9pm on Sunday after reports of a man in possession of a knife.

Sales rep Stuart McMahon, who was eating at the restaurant with his girlfriend, told the SUN: "This guy came running in then charged into the kitchen, got a massive knife and started waving it about.

"Everyone was screaming and running out as he jumped on a table, dropped his trousers and popped his penis out.

"Then he cut it off. I couldn't believe it."

A Scotland Yard spokeswoman said a man aged between 30-40 was the only person injured and that his injuries were self-inflicted.

She said he was taken to a south London hospital where his condition was today described as stable.

Developing...

I see how that has to do with the war in Iraq... certainly interesting though

I wouldn't criticize the author of the email, but the email doesn't convince me that the Iraq war is winnable or worthwhile at this point. The U.S. is fighting insurgents who hate Iran. The U.S. is trying to build a stable Iraq so it can go be Iran's best friend. Eventually the U.S. can crush the insurgents in Iraq, but helping Iran is a really shitty reward for doing it.

Its amazing that people don't know the real Iran at all, and are swallowing whole the propaganda war against them like they would swallow Dick Cheney's cock if they had the chance.

But anyways, we didn't lose the war militarily.  We lost the war on terror the second we did away with our democratic principles and our leadership decided to become torturers.  We lost the "war" the second we gave up our moral high ground.  If I had to pick a moment the war was lost, with no going back, it is here:

Bush lawyer says "A-OK to crush a child's testicles.

Or maybe its when this was drafted...

Bybee Memo, the fun part starts in section 5 and just keeps getting better.

Actually, it was neither one...its when even 1 US citizen thought all this was a "good idea", throwing our principles as patriotic Americans in the garbage can.  Its when even one citizen was willing to throw away our Bill of Rights for a little revenge on some damned foreigners which had nothing to do with anything.

After this it doesn't matter how brave our men in uniform fight, it doesn't matter what kind of heroes come out of the mess, it doesn't matter what they do to change things every day.  They can win all the battles they want, but the war is lost the second our leadership forgot what separates us from the "terrorists" we're fighting.

How a REAL conservative talks.

I never understood why we didn't go in with 400k troops to totally lock down the Iraq - imagine if we had did that - alot of this insurgency/setarian violence wouldn't have been to take foot.

Because it takes a lot of time and supplies to mobilize that many?

Last I heard is that Iran is supplying BOTH the shite and the sunni factions with arms...

Notice the up-tick in violence in Afganistan?  Its not totally the 'spring offensive'...look at what they did to the UN troops there just last week.

Because deploying a third of your armed forces to Iraq would be ridiculous and embarassing.

why the fuck should they hate Iran, 90% of all the insurgents are from Chechnya and are veterans. i highly doubt that they hate the guys giving them munitions and training. maybe the iraqi insurgents hate iran but they are way fewer than the fighters from outside the country.

They can't tell you that, because then the facts would shadow the answers to show that our policies are failing miserably.

Would a win mean real introspection on our foreign policy blunders for the last 50 years at least and fixing them so we don't suffer so much blowback?   Nah, fail, lets just re-write recent history and ignore the rest.
https://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j182/swiftian/whatnow.jpg

Would a win mean finding a worldwide consensus on how to deal with terrorism?  Fail.
https://supernatural.blogs.com/photos/uncategorized/mgzapir.gif

Would a win mean that the US would serve as a paragon of virtue and free peoples would abide by our example?  Fail.
https://www.inkcinct.com.au/Web/CARTOONS/2006/2006-094-tenet-of-democracy.jpg

Would a win mean that the terrorists are not capable of compromising our security or the security of our allies to carry out another attack?  Fail.
https://www.foxnews.com/images/111195/1_2_terror_alert_orange.jpg

Would a win mean the finding solutions to the causes of Middle Eastern terrorism?  Fail.
https://www.the-tribulation-network.com/dougkrieger/signs02.JPG

How 'bout domestic terrorism?  Oh wait, thats the 33% base...can't touch that.
https://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j182/swiftian/jesushateseverybody.jpg

Would a win mean the stabilization of the middle east making it safe to export western business to the region?  Fail.
https://repinuj.no.sapo.pt/democracy.gif

Would a win be a real investigation into 9/11 for starters, complete with scientific analysis of debris, detailed analysis of what went wrong, and figuring out how the fuck a bunch of Arab farm boys pulled off a near perfect commando raid on the most powerful military machine in the world, and then relieve from duty the incompetent clowns that let it happen?  Nah, fail...and too wordy for a good soundbyte.
https://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j182/swiftian/drinkme2.jpg

Maybe a win is simply when propoganda pundits tell us its a win!  Or maybe not...
https://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j182/swiftian/coulterafghan2.jpg

Or would a win simply mean that people put things in perspective...(Borat pause)...NOT!
https://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j182/swiftian/properterroralert.jpg

Ahh, now I know, a win means that the government and the war machine has completely maxed out the taxpayer credit card, as well as maxed out the blood Americans are willing to spill for the cause, right?  I think we have a winner, but we apparently haven't reached our limit yet.

All countries standing united to snuff out any flames of financing, training and the harboring of terrorists. The KKK is/was a terror group, they were put down and are being kept down by public opinion and a loathful attitude toward them.  The war on terror was WON in this case. Tell me how this is any different.
