Admittedly, the sanctity of human life, especially life in "other" groups, has gone down hill in the USA. We're one of the last Westernized countries to drop the death penalty, for example. Music, as an artform, reflects and amplifies the mood and values of those that listen to it. Rap music, which has a lot of intellectual range, at the lower end reflects the "feel good", instant violence, and ardent materialism which is all set in a background of economic despair. However, to characterize all "rap" in this way is the same as saying all heavy metal is "satan worshipping music".
Or, let me put it another way, when was the last time the music you listen to made YOU do anything? You prefer to listen to music based on your mood or mindset. The music may calm you or rile you up, but it doesn't fundamentally change who you are or what you're capable of doing.

Since this is under race and such, I hate the Nationwide commercials.
Examples:
1. The Asian guy is in his car and there's a noise. He hits the dash and his car literally falls apart. A white chick comes on screen stating the usual commercial crap. Then, there's a lovely angelic sounding "Nationwide is on your siiiide" gingle at the end.
2. A black lady hears her winning lotto numbers on the radio as she's driving, acting like a total schmuck in the process. She crashes into a pile of dirt, being shoveled by blacks. When she learns its covered under her "Nationwide" insurance, she dances and makes more of an ass of herself. Cut to a black kid asking his uncle or something for the keys to the BMW in the background. The black claims adjuster comes from behind the kid, though he's not really there, and says no. The kid doesn't get the keys. Then, the rap themed gingle starts with lots of base. "Nationwide is on your side".......
Sounds pretty racist to me. And I fucking hate those commercials.

Actually all 'races', as defined by skin colour, are probably going to die out. We are becoming a more and more diversely mixed world-population. People of all 'races' in all parts of the world are migrating to all other parts of the world and forming relationships with people of all other 'races'. And now, their children are doing the same. This trend only increases and I can not see it stopping. Also, this brings up some immigration issues. In all honesty, the Mexican population here in California, and especially in my community, is becoming overwhelming. I get sick of all these Spanish billboards, and all these things such as churches that have "regular" service, followed by "hispanic" service, or when I go to Jack In The Box and order a Jumbo Jack, not a "yumbo yack". This just encourages them to not learn English, which, at the rate they're coming in, will have a severe, negative impact on future America. More and more white people are marrying Mexicans, or Mexican dependents, simply because there are so many. But that's a different story...
