I think we would all have died from a nuclear war caused by a 5 year old girl before the universe falls apart.

Ever wondered what death was like? Sure everyone says Heaven, but we know that's not real. The idea of reincarnation is a little better, I mean why are you alive now? Out of all of the time of the world, why are you alive NOW? Where where you before you mom was born? Those who believe in this also have to face the harmful truth about this. Eventually, we humans will either die of war, disease, Yellowstone Park Volcano, or just when the sun blows up. Now what? Even some scientists say that since the universe is expanding, one day the atoms that make up the universe will expand and fall apart, thus ending the universe. Will death be just like sitting in a dark room for an eternity? Or just a repeat of your life over and over after you die? This is why I have to watch TV to fall asleep because I will start freaking out about this and lose my mind if I don't. Hope this doesn't happen to you now.
M8, I've had all these questions and been freaked out by it all but i kept looking for answers and i know i've found "MY" answers through meditating, check out anything and everything to do with meditation and give it a go, besides what have you got to loose?

How do we know life isn't just one big lucid dream?
I've had that before, now THAT'S something that'll blow your mind, thinking about it. It's some intense Twighlight Zone stuff right there.

I reckon this reincarnation thing has a point. Think about it:

- Okay, the Universe is expanding but the matter is always constant in the Universe (you can't create matter)
- Since light can be deemed as matter (I think) - why can't Souls?
- Therefore, the number of souls in the Universe is constant
- So even though the population of the earth is increasing, the number of souls in the Universe is always constant. So there might be mass extinction or something somewhere else in the Universe.

- So that's why i believe in reincarnation, when you die you're just reborn as something else but of course it's just a new life and you don't remember anything about your previous life. Sure, there is a chance that your previous or next life was on Earth but the chances are slim. The Universe is motherfuckin huge!

That's my take on it.

Only point of view that has ever made sense to me is actually one of science. As you may or may not know its generally believed and basically proven that energy cannot be destroyed, it can only be changed into a different form of energy (theres a name for this but ive forgotten it, its late and ive been drinking).

As you may also know the human brain functions through the use of electrical signals, so in theory, when you die and these signals cease its stands to reason all that electrical energy inside you has gone to "another place". some may choose to call this your soul, and in a way because of this there is something for us after death (a lot of anime bases itself around this way of thaught too), but life after death? no i think not

be mindful of your thoughts because they become words, be mindful of your words because they become actions, be mindful of your actions because they become habits, be mindful of your habits because they become your character, be mindful of your character because it defines your destiny - if you're afraid of dieing you better not be afraid of living..

while the above may be misconstrued as yoda-esk, seriously though, if you find yourself getting anxious and depressed over an event that may or may not happen in hundreds of billions years time. LAY OFF THE WEED

To help reinforce your concept of souls. Since energy can neither be created nor destroyed, only changed in state (heat/light/noise/kinetics etc) and the human body contains an F load of energy (see the entire concept of the matrix). Then when we die, where does that energy go to? Because we don't suddenly burst into flame, light does shine out of our asses (not yours anyway) and we don't make a lot of noise (after death anyway) so maybe that energy does go into creating a soul.

Or maybe in the hindu sense it goes back to the singular conciousness. That we are all islands in a sea, on the surface we are all individual, but underneath we are all part of the same land mass.

Or maybe we are unplugged and fed intravenously back to the living so that the machines can harvest our bodies for energy whilst living in a fake dream world
