1.)According to your sources or experience serving in army, which infantry would dominate the rest? I do not have the knowledge, nor do I particularly care.
2.)What makes any military units so skilled, toughness, skills, intelligence or something else? I assume experience and skill, but again, I would not claim to argue over something I know nothing about.
3.) if WW3 broke out, and you were drafted to go war, would you give your life for your country or run like a bitch? No, I would not serve, particularly if drafted.
4.) If you were forced to serve in military would you still serve? As a conscientious objector, no, I would not serve if drafted.
5.)If you were to rebel against going to the army and your only chance to stay alive was to get tortured? would you still go to the war, and be exposed to some horrific stuff which would make you mentally unstable for the rest of your life. Do you mean that my country would torture me for refusing to serve? I would rather that than serve in the military.
I find it rather interesting that there exists a conscientious objector who is a practiced Battlefield 2 player possessing a kill to death ratio much better than mine. The primary part of being a conscientious objector is that military service violates ones conscience. I would think that if violence went against someones conscience, one would not participate in it, even in make-believe. This leads me to believe that the above cited individual is politically motivated, is not willing to place himself in harm's way, or is simply too lazy to serve as opposed to having a conflict that stems from conscience. But I digress . . .
1). I have the utmost respect for all of the US infantry forces (Army of all varieties and Marines). Soldiers from the Republic of Korea have also earned my respect. I briefly observed Soldiers from Australia, Britain, and Estonia as well, but could not make an informed comparison of "how they stack up" compared to US and ROK forces.
2). The number one quality you need in any military unit is a warrior spirit. When you boil it down, all armies exist to kill people and break things when a government fails to get what it wants and really wants it. An interesting fact about current US forces is that they are all volunteers (no mandatory service required, no draft in place). Somewhere, deep down, everyone in the US military wants to be there.
3). I like to think about it like Patton did: make the other guy die for his country. I already serve and do it without reservation.
4). Hard to say. I chose this lifestyle; no one forced it on me.
5). I was lucky and did not have to kick down any doors, encounter another man, face to face, and decide whether or not I needed to take action that may end his life. I, along with many others, paid honors to men and women who did that and did not make it home. I don't think I'm mentally unstable, but I couldn't tell you how I would be on the other end of it.
