Songhua or Zatar?

I have quite a few hours playing both:

Songhua Stalemate 26:24:18
Zatar Wetlands 42:23:19

I like both.. but Zatar Wetlands more just because I like flying the F-35. F-35 Vs Mig is good fun. Its a well balanced map also.

At FullContactWar's server they have all maps in rotation.. and when these xcome up its always a blast.

Was on the same server as you Snake, good game though. I was on the same team as you then I got switched over as everyone switched back to US, good game though for sure. Played 2 or 3 rounds with you I think it was. Had fun taking you out a few times in the Jet

Oh yeah, I like Zatar better, more balance not a rape fest like Wake imo either. Songhua is a good map too but not many servers have either. TV2 is the only server with a 24/7 of Zatar, dunno if they have a sunghua though.

It's weird, when I do find them, I usually only find 1 or 2. And one is usually empty, while the other one has a high ping. Anything over 90 = no go for me.

They are both very good maps and I hate the fact that nobody has them in their map rotations but I think the primary reasons for this are the following

Songhua Stalemate: back in the 1.12 days this was worse than Mashtuur city and it turned into a blackhawk rape fest with no hope of winning for the chinese with two Blackhawks roaming around... and for this reason it has not worked it's way back into most peoples map rotation...

Zatar Wetlands: I'm not really sure why this has never been played much. And it has been scarce on peoples map rotations for as long as I can remember. My guess it that it's just to damned big and has very few vehicles to get around in. I've had rounds where as MEC 1 guy jumps in each of the vehicles and then peels out before anyone can join him and then spent the next 15 minutes just walking to the first flag.

^Thats one of the reasons I play Zatar due to its huge size and its balanced as can be so you can't really complain. Ontop of that lots of Jet space.

Both of these maps aren't widely played due to the fact they aren't "point" maps imo. Karkand and Wake are widely played due to the fact you can rake in a ton of points on inf only Karkand and well Wake you can rape kills.

I like Zatar. I played on it a lot (unranked), but too bad there isn't any good server so I don't have a chance to play it.
Songhua - I hate it. The terrain, the jungle, too much green color and water ...bah. I'm more of the desert type:)

I don't think I've played either for more than five minutes, but Songhua is sounding a whole lot cooler. The idea that snipers are hiding around in the jungle sounds like there's a lot of stealth involved, and unless your playing Wake, any map with jets sucks.

Songhua sucks ass period. APC's fest and flag hopping, how fun... It would be cool to snipe in the fog if it were possible to snipe through APC's but it's not. Have fun sitting in the woods for 10 minutes getting no kills and finally getting artilleried or spotted by a UAV and getting killed.

Zatar is pretty blah. Too wide open and only one attack chopper.

Zatar wins.

Although Shonghua isn't a bad map, I still find it less appealing than Zatar. Although Fushe isn't a bad map either. The server I frequently go to used to have all three of the maps. Then they took out Shonghua, then Fushe, then Zatar.

But they put on a lot of Dragon Valley, Gulf of Oman, Daqing Oilfields, and Kubra Dam. Wish they put on Mashtuur more.
