quick question guys, when i fire up bf2 i get the following message and than eventually it just goes to desktop, any ideas on what to do guys. all help is appreciated.

Its missing a shaders file, i would try a reinstall.

hmm i would but ive misplaced the other disc (2+3) any other suggestions?

Also try deleting the folders & files from
E:\My Documents\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\cache (the bf2 folder in your my doc's)

that clears the shaders

how did this happen? what are your specs?
try repatching, but i still thnk reinstalling is a better idea.

Delete all your cache files in the My documents folder and reinstall, that should do the trick. Also check if you have the latest drivers for your graphics card.

Patch it, or reinstall it. If you are using Special Forces, synchronize your shaders in BF2 original first (by changing graphics settings).

I got that same message when I first got special forces, all I had to do was re-install the latest patch and whoa, it worked again.

Not sure what reinstalling the patch did, but ohwell. Just try it

Seriously, how? I have a problem like this when I try to start BF2 with only a key that uses the BF2 target, but if I click on an icon or something of the like it's fine.

that message comes up also when your shortcut is missing its +menu 1 +fullscreen 1 switches

im starting the application with the installer disc but ive lost the other ones meaning i cannot reinstall, im going to try repatching tonight but so far ive had no success.

oh so your not using a shortcut- thats probably why, try using the shortcut in your start menu
