I've been to a few protests and I've seen fists pumped in the air, but never run into a rock-toting angry Islamic crowd.  I've posted this because it seems like everytime there is a protest the rocks are flyin'.

So is it tradition to throw rocks in protest?  Or is it media bias?

Why does it seem that Islamic public demostrations are violent with rock-tossing?  Remember the time when the churches were buring because offense taken by what the Pope said?

Peaceful protests by Muslims don't make for exciting television and thus do not usually get on the news so the fact that we only ever see Muslim protests where violence breaks out could technically be described as a form of media bias.

I was at a Muslim march in London recently, no rocks were thrown and unsurprisingly it was not covered on the evening news.

not at all.  but that cculd be deemed as an offensive action.  i mean shit,  youll have a bunch of videos of youtube showing Americans throwing rocks at a bunch of iraqis with the iraqis throwing rocks at Americans not being recorded.  you familiar with the term "escalation of force" ? but now i hear about guys bring with them slingshots and airsoft guns to use at the rock throwing population.  when i was in country we traded a kalishnikov that we captured in a raid a few days prior for a BB gun that we found in some iraqis car during a snap TCP (random road checkpoint)  at first, the iraqi dude didnt wanna take the AK, but then when we convinced him that we were genuine, he took it and handed us the bb gun.  i got kick out of that lil episode. A BB gun for an AK47 assault rfle,  where else in the world would you find a trade like....i should write a book.  we didnt even use the bb gun for the rock throwers either.  we got it for the stray dogs that always bark at us and give away our position at night but then it broke a few days later and just turned in to a souvenir.

Yep, that's exactly why I don't understand the standard "baseball card" photo of the agitator in mid-toss always is the one in the paper...you never know how big the issue is (ps. it is pretty big).

If I grew up there I know I would have tossed a few.

Back when they just tossed some rocks ( in the 60s and 70s ) we should have talked to them.
we had years but powerfull lobbies in the USA sqeulched any attempt. To late now, The Wars begun...win it or figure out which side your on because its gonna get bigger if we bail.

Why doesen't anybody protest with water balloons? They're FAR more fun, and hitting a soldier in the head with one will piss him off less than a rock.

Thats why some of us lucky troops have FN 303's.Nothing says "back the fuck up", like a hard plastic paintball round, fired at 500FPS.  (Such an evil less then lethal launcher, but oooh so fun )
