I play 2142 a lot, and notice that for every server, more or less, I get around 30 ping. That's not the problem. The problem is, even if I'm getting 30 ping, I am the slowest player. I can't run, everything is slowed down, but the fact of the matter is that I usually have the lowest ping. What's going on?
I had the same problem too until I lowered the graphics, now it runs soooo smooth.

try getting rid of some sruff you don't use/want, it worked for me
