Which explains why the people supported Mao..................................or not.

The majority of deaths under Mao were either the result of subordinates taking things to far, or poor planning rather than maliciousness.  Kai-Shek was famed for his brutality, whilst Communist soldiers were known for their politeness.
I take it you're a Communist apologist.
Who am I apologising to?

Fact is that until the Cultural Revolution, Mao did not encourage large scale civil violence.

Chiang Kai-Shek, on the other hand, was known for marching into villages and opening fire.

No, the US government is dealing with China despite it's human rights abuses.
True.  I wish we wouldn't do that, but we don't have much of a choice in this global economy.
Have you ever considered the fact that either does Yahoo!.....................?

Whether or not Mao pulled the trigger, he was responsible in one way or another for the deaths of about 100 million Chinese over the period of time he ruled.  I'd say Kai-Shek pales by comparison in terms of brutality.

They do have a choice.  They can say "Fuck China."  They make plenty of money outside of China, so if they refuse the wishes of the Chinese government, they'll be blocked, but they'll retain some dignity.

Wow, we'll compare someone who never actually ruled the country, and only held any power for a much shorter time, and still use absolute rather than relative numbers.  That............that's an interesting method.  So, then, the US is a much more evil country than Iran.

So, Yahoo! has choice, but the US government doesn't?  Are you serious?

It depends on how you define evil.  I can see how some people might think America is more evil than Iran.  I would disagree with them, but I'm sure there's a way you could argue for that view....

Good point...  We do have a choice, but we don't have the dignity to make it....

But based on your logic, it's true.

You declare the Mao is worse than Chiang Kai-Shek purely because more people died under Mao.  By that logic, the US is worse than Iran.

Well, it is true that we have entered more wars than Iran in the last 100 years, but the difference between Mao and us is the difference between killng a large chunk of your family (100 million Chinese citizens under your rule) and killing people that pull a gun on you or your friends (Nazies, Imperialist Japanese, Communist Koreans, Communist Vietnamese, Iraqi invaders, Serbian murderers, and insurgents).

We aren't talking about the difference between Mao and the US, we're talking about the difference between Mao and Chiang Kai Shek and comparing it to the difference between Iran and the US.
