I have a similar spec and concequently similar performance :-(

I suggest not spending too much on upgrades - your better off saving for a new machine.

But if you really want to upgrade I would pick up another gig of RAM (~£100), a Radeon 9800 or X700 series card (£60-120)

And a new processor, at least a P4 3.2 ghz

But by the time you've spent that on upgrades you could have just added another couple of hundred and bought a new machine altogether (like I want to)

£500 will get you one which will Own the above upgrades.

Mesh aren't bad either.  Just stay away from Dell(evil!)!

Dell are OK but not for gaming.

Mesh are a tempting offer, but not quite as good as OCUK (although you'll get a better warranty/returns package)

My main gripe with Dell is upgrades.  I've been building and servicing PC's for 3 years now and I will not touch Dell owing to compatability issues, warranties etc.  Some even require a special driver just to open the damn case!  If you buy from Dell, you're stuck with them.

Hmm, ive been using a Dell PC for 3 years now and have upgraded it countless times...no problems whatsoever making upgrades to it.

Oh well, I've been ill-advised over that one then.  Still wouldn't touch them with a barge pole though.

it really depends on what budget you are on, just make sure you get a good power supply and board so you can upgrade when ever you fell like it. I would recommend you customise you own, try finding a factory close to you to get parts for cheap.
