I installed a netgear wireless reuter for my Dad's new computer about 2 weeks ago and have been experiencing horrendous lag issues on the game ever since, rendering it unplayable. It's infuriatingly jerky all the time with occasional flickers of 'You have lost your connection'. I've had a search on the forums and have yet to find a solution, setting windows wireless config to stop didn't change a thing.

What I don't understand is that my internet is connected to the router via ethernet, so surely it should be running as smoothly as it was before? I've even tried making sure my Dad's comp was disconnected just in case he was running some huge internet consuming killer app (not that he would, he's new to computers) but to avail. When I CAD my link speed in networking is at 100Mps as it always has been.

Specs:

P(R)4 2.80Mhz
1gig DDR2
Radeon X600

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

My computer is wired up, to the wireless reuter, which itself is wired to the modem. It's my Dad's PC downstairs that's connected wirelessly, which I don't use to play BF2 on.

Turn the settings back to what they where before you hooked your dads new pc to the network.
If that fixes it, you know your problem

BTW: check if the wireless part is secured, so no-one outside people you gave the password can enter it.

And, a tip for when you buy a new router if you ever do it: READ REVIEWS AND BUY A DECENT ONE. Get a gaming router.

Yes, Radeon X600 is rubbish but it works smoothly on low settings.

How would I go about putting the settings back to what they were previously?

Nope, same ISP.

Cheers for the replies.
