Helicopter pilots dont have parashutes and dont need them. When the engine shuts down, the main rotor will keep turning, providing enough lift to make a controlled crash landing. The heli has to be flying at a minimum of 40 meters tho if i remember correctly.theDude5B wrote:
In Project Reality, I like the idea that you need to be a pilot to use the helicopters, and I am not totally sure, but it would be nice if they got teamwork points for transporting.
I think this would be a good idea for BF2/2142 in the future because then more people would be pilots and transport people about. Also the pilot is the only one with a parachute so he actually has to land so people can get out, which is a bit more realistic than everyone just jumping out with their parachutes.

No other games for me, i only played 2142 for about 100 hours so i m just getting the hang of it. Yesterday i was promoted to chief petty officer gold.
i'm not really sure what it is about PR but it just feels right. its bf2 mixed with arma. its realistic enough that you can no longer be superman like you were in bf2 yet you also don't have that ultra realistic boredom of arma. believe it or not there is a genuine thrill to gunning down an enemy soldier. it just feels right.Echo wrote:

Had some great rounds today! got promoted, I'm finally an Officer!
and got my first medal except bronze/silver/gold... got the good conduct ribbon... and a heck lot of pins!
left becasue I started laging so much I couldn't move.. I tried walking down a road and suddenly I was walking in the opposite direction... I was aiming at a guys head with sniper and just when I shot I was turned against and team-mate and I shot him in the head ... I then tried trowing a nade over a long clear area and suddenly I was turned toward a wall and the nade bounced back on me

I'm 2.5 points from YAWN!!!!
It was difficult to get the server started last night but after we got the game started, i got my first gold star while commanding. I also got a basic command badge and i knifed my first brigadier general. Good games everyone and thanks for joining my squad.
