It's a billon tetradrachm coin from Alexandria in Egypt from around 64/65 AD - the time of Nero. However I remember those tetradrachm coins as being silver in colour not bronze... I could be wrong though, it has been over a year since my last Classical Studies class.
The design through is definitely the aforementioned coin, and the coin itself is definitely from that era, (that crowned dude is Nero.) The colour is probably irrelevant as quite a few coins were made out of any kind of metal that could be found.
Thanks very much +1 karma and more to come. I will see what I can find with the info you gave me.
The coin is more of a tarnished silver color than it is bronze like you said. I took a knife and put a small scrape on the edge of the coin and it is a bronze or brass color under the tarnish (more like the pics that I took)
I have found some on the net thanks to TY. So far only found one site with prices around $50-$70 USD.
First link shows 4 coins and the second link is directly to one of the coins on the first link. The one I have seems to be in better shape than these on the net.
