I was thinking it would be nicer and more fun if the tank required a 3 men crew to operate properly rather than 1. You can have a driver, a gunner for the cannon, and the third gunner for the .50 cal.

1. It requires more teamwork
2. The tank will be more "aware" with 3 pairs of eyes instead of 1
3. Shooting on the go is more effective
4. Less tank whoring

Will it work or will it be too team dependent to function?

That's how it is in PRMM, but EA isn't going to change the tank now... So keep dreaming...

I've heard about PRM but not sure how it works. Is it an independent game or do you still need a BF2 disk to play?

Unless the tanks were just super badass after that, no one would bother.

its a modification of bf2. dont worry, you can still play vanilla bf2. its like an expansion pack i guess. example: you can play bf2 or you can play bf2: special forces. its like bf2: project reality. its free, and absolutely wonderful. go get it. now. scurry. why are you still reading this? you should be downloading right now.

edit: yes it still requires bf2 cd. (i think?)

It would work well, but only if the crewmen were team players. If someone was being a jerk, they could ruin a team's armor capability.

Sadly, teamwork works only when all put in, and yeah, it would suck if someone decided to be a jerk, and then they could easily ruin the mass amounts of fun teamwork brings about...

It would probably end up similar to the whole team/solo choppering issue.

Not if seat-switching is disabled.
In a tank the driver enters his seat through his own hatch.

Seat-switching only makes sense in regular cars and the passenger seats of APCs and transport choppers.
The driver/pilot should never be able to switch.

Not really. It doesn't work especially well in PRMM either. First, you have to get in a large enough squad, then you have to request the kit you need, then you have to get other people with the right kits to get in the tank with you.

alot of tanks in 1942 had 2, with one driving and one operating the cannon. I always thought it was a bit annoying.
