yeah theres a rackload of TV2 servers that you should ping good to, only a few of them are IO

BF2 is dieing, not partically from the 'pubbing' perspective, but most definetly in competion. CAL has probably one more season left and a few more 5v5 seasons. TWL will still run rampid, but then again, who the fuck cares about TWL? Pubbing won't die for awhile, more and more nubs buy the game daily. I still enjoy the game, but have come to the point where I'd rather play in the BF2pro pub rather than the ranked pubs, just because of all the unlock whores. BF2 got great once I/O came out, and anyone who needs to hide behind a tank to survive should uninstall. kthxbye.

I stopped playing about two months ago and just recently got back into playing. Several other people I know have gotten back into it as well. I just hate that I can't find any Euro Forces servers.

BF2 isn't dying, if you look at gamestats you know it is thriving. At the present moment 12:30am CST, BF2 has 4,000 more players playing it than 2142. And it's always like that. There are always more players playing BF2. BF2 consistantly has outperformed 2142 in servers and active players, from day 1 that 2142 was launched. And the margin of players has increased for BF2 since 2142's release.

In terms of longevity Bf2 is dying period my friend, maybe in terms of new people playing , you are right in that sense Bf2 is thriving.
ill give you 10 reasons why Bf2 is dying:
1) By the time you get to 2nd or 1st Lt. you have all the unlocks assuming you have the SF XP pack
2) Last march of last year, with the teamgod.net hack scare, started a wave of nasty hacks in Bf2. dont get me wrong, there will always be hackers, but i noticed a lot of hacks going on back then in vast numbers. before this game came out, you would rarely see a hack. as a result i stopped playing once i became 1st Lt. i cant take this crap anymore
3) EA / DICE has messed up this game time and time again with the CTD of patch 1.3 and what not. bad programming and good concepts in opposite parts of the gaming spectrum.
4) People TK ing for vehicles....... that is a spit to my face. people are soo obsesed with a big ass body count and badges rather than winning.
5) teamwork including capturing and defending flags is absolutely horrible. every noob wants to capture flags, but when you tell them to defend one... they will tell you to " get lost and STFU"
aside: medics and support: taking out ammo bags to partially heal or resupply you, then they run away with it and instead of getting 5 new clips for your rifle or full health , you get partial.. worse they dont drop the ammo bags or health packs....
6) Medics out there are more interested running around with a L85 or a G36E spraying lead all over the map, rather revive or heal someone who is only 2 feet away from them.. see a buttload of idiot medics and when i am killed, no one revives me. not even a medic who is 12 inches from me and he is not busy shooting someone
7) Vehicle whoring...... thats self explanitory
8) MY personal favorite....... all the retards flaming each other... "OMG u freakin ( insert a nationality here) cunt... you took my APC." OR " you stupid Noob this and noob that" or " Freakin tard get off my helicopter cause me and my clan mate want some ownage"
9) My second favorite: Stupid 12 year old Admins kicking and banning people because they got owned or someone who plays the game the right way takes a tank and kills people . Every freakin vehicle is owned or the property of a [ Insert clan tag here].
Rubber ducky server allowing people to grenade spam all over the place instead of taking flags

Public BF2 is pretty alive compared to competition BF2. The competition scene has become smaller and smaller in the past weeks, inside of tournaments are a lot of forfeits because of teams not playing anymore. Noone cares about competition BF2 anymore. Though competition 2142 was never alive and 2142 is just a good public game, nothing more.
Anyway there are enough Non-IO servers out there, you should maybe check your filters though i think Infantry Only was by far the best addition DICE did to the game.
