Actually it was two authoritarian ideologies fighting each other. Hitler's party used populist rhetoric to cement the support of the "average" German, hence the name "National Socialist German Workers' Party". Hitler really did see this as a contest between himself and leftist socialists for control of Germany. I might buy your point if Hitler had started out a Communist and then broke with it, creating an internal schism in Germany's Communists, but no such thing happened. Nazi ideology was created in direct opposition to Communism/Socialism, not out of some disagreement between Communists/Socialists over doctrine.
One of the defining characteristics of a Socialist nation is the collective ownership of means of production, yet in Nazi Germany the major industrialists still owned their businesses and still directly profitted from them. In many cases, especially for factories producing war materiel, the Nazis provided them with slave labor. Socialism != Fascism, no matter how much you might hate Socialism. This is a lame and dishonest attempt to re-write history, it's not working and the reasons for it are painfully transparent. Hitler's Germany saw the mass incarceration of people deemed to be "enemies of the State"; Jews, Communists, trade unionists, homosexuals, political dissenters, et cetera. It saw the creation of State offices to criminalize homosexuality and abortion, and gun laws that restricted ownership of firearms to those who were "good" citizens. Instead of enabling this crap, maybe you should ask yourself why those above you in this country are pushing so hard to give the Nazis political plastic surgery.

Pies are not assault, they're slapstick. Says a lot about someone when instead of laughing it off, they start pressing charges and screaming "But what if there was ANTHRAX in that pie?!? Speakers are turned away from campuses when the college staff determines that having those speakers there isn't as valuable to them as NOT having those speakers there, or if they're just flat out not wanted. Ye gods man, you're not demanding that colleges host conservative speakers whether they want to or not, are you? I hope not, that would sound like you were demanding special rights or something.
Plainly put, any liberal worth their salt CAN hold their own in an honest debate of ideas, but starting off with "all you liberals are traitors who enable terrorists and should be shot or at the very least jailed for the good of the nation" doesn't really inspire anyone to believe that an honest debate of ideas is in the offing. What I see here is a lot of whining about how nobody likes you, but it doesn't matter because they're all ugly stupid doody-heads anyway.
