I've been experiencing CTDs or random freezes mostly when I play flyer (jet or helo) maps. So I did a clean reinstall of BF2 (Deluxe Edition) and...now even infantry maps like Karkand randomly crashes on me.

Here's my PC stats :

Pentium D 2.44 Ghz
1 gig DDR2 RAM
NVidia Geforce 7300 GS 512MB
80 GB HDD partitioned to 2

I've tried updating all my video and sound drivers but to no avail. I greatly appreciate any help provided to eliminate or at least reduce my CTD/freezing problem. It gets very annoying when I finally get into a jet and start killing 5-6 people in a bombing run only to have BF2 freeze or crash on me.

Edit ~ I can run the game on full medium settings, but here's my video settings for the game when I play it :

Everything set to low except Effects, Geometry, Texture Filtering and View Distance at 100% at a resolution of 1028x720 @ 75Hz

Test your power supply and your RAM.

it sound like a ram problem.  here is a link to another with the same problem heres how it was corrected. http://forums.hexus.net/showthread.php?t=50130 . as far as the video card goes i have seen first hand bf2 run on a bfg fx 5500 at low mid settings with no problems. even though the specs say you need at least a 5700 series card.  if you only have on stick of memory try running some memory tests. and when all else fails try google searching it lots of others have had this problem and found multiple awnsers to it.

of coarse the 5500 fx woud work but he has a 7300 if he gets a card that has a higher second number that should  fix it
