In the great spirit of the upcoming Presidential Election ( and by upcoming I mean in about 2 years) there has been a lot of great political debate and very relevant discussion about important issues. One of my personal favorites is the labeling of the Flip Flopper.
Some recent history:

John Kerry
Voted for the invasion of Iraq in 2002, now states war was grosely mismanaged and a mistake
Title: Flip Flopper

Hilary Clinton
Senator Clinton votes and endorses the presidents decision to go to war over Iraq in 2002. Now sees Iraq war as President Bush's mistake.
Title: Flip Flopper

George W. Bush
Refused to create a new agency for Homeland Security in 2001, but signed into existence the Department of Homeland Security in 2002
Wholeheartedly endorsed Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfled despite calls from both sides of the aisle to force a resignation. Rumsfeld resigns in 2006.
In 2002, describes 3 renegade countries in an "Axis of Evil": Iran , Iraq, and North Korea. Refuses to negotiate with North Korea on nuclear proliforation in 2002. Signs pact with North Korea, freezing the rebellious country's nuclear programs in 2006
Title: The Decider (He choose that one himself)
While Democrats are portrayed as the Flip Flop Party, on many different occasions has Bush not just changed direction but done a total about face. But partisanship aside, there really isn't any differences between these examples. When a problem arose, all choose a side then pulled a 180 later on down the road.
This should not be a trait that is condemned. Rather, it should be encouraged; the ability to realize an error has been made and correct it. Going down with the ship is heroic, but it really doesn't get you anywhere.
