I don't respect ranks in general unless its REALLY high. I respect skills. Any asshole can bumble around for 500 hours and get a decent rank. But I'll respect someone more if they have 50 hours but are actually skilled.

EDIT: Case in point, that Dominiko guy bumbles around with exceedingly average stats for 830 hours and has a much higher rank than me. But I would consider myself the better player.

Oh, also, please change the title of the thread if possible. Two questionmarks is pathetic. You may argue that it made me look, but that's because I am also pathetic.

Your an idiot, and nice sig btw
Simon , speaking of public servers he's right . New accounts and league players doesnt count though...
I see skilled players holding M16A2 very rare , unless they are colonel or higher ... Ak's are popular , but IMO , skill shows up when you own with M16
I just found it funny how he generalizes thousands of players in to 3 words. Having 160k + doesnt make you pro, expecially not in infantry, 90% of the time when i see a high ranker all they do is just jump and go prone in a fight waiting to get killed.

ROFL, you have to be kidding me. You have no idea who those players are do you? Sorry but Pub-Allstars vs. League Allstars = no contest.

And no offense meant to anyone I put in that list either, but this was just the first 8 I could think of off the top of my head. I'm sure if I took more than 2 minutes putting a dreamteam of <2nd Lt. players I could do better than that.

Put any 5 infantry from TOP, present or past, against nL anytime. Just make sure you post the demos here ok?

Just think about it, a General with a 3 Assault rifle KD on his FIRST account surely could get a 4-5KD on his second/Third.

But still, a competetive team>A group of generals.. though only because they practice and probably do actually play more than the generals, and they focus on one thing rather than 3 etc.

lol, TOP vs nL. i hope u realize how stupid that sounds. one team rapes pubs, the other wins competitions. ive never seen a TOP member that was particularly good at infantry for that matter. and plus i dont think they are a clan any more.

but in all fairness, most good league players also have ranked accounts with a lot of points. there arent many people that are good at bf2 without a lot of experience, and pubs are a great place to start. but experience in arranged matches is much more helpful. You either fail at it or learn the most powerful strategies. Pubs are far too forgiving. They teach you to do things that won't work when playing against skilled players (even if u have developed a significant amount of skill, yourself).

Reality check for the cool-dudes-wannabe:
"pubbers" are the vast majority of the playerbase.
The average player plays a few hours per week to have fun and relax.
The average player doesn't want a second job, scheduled training sessions and clan matches.
The average player doesn't feel the need to deal with a bunch of nerds who think to be in a real war or something and usually get very very angry for the most stupid things.
And most important: the average player want to play all maps, not only 5v5 on small Karkand.
Conclusion: league players aren't "cooler", they probably just have a lot of free time, a good connection and some decent starting skill. The rest is training, playing always with the same people on TS and focusing on a specific role.
Looks to me a lot like a job.

OBVIOUSLY a dedicated league player has to be skilled in his role. And is supposed to own miserably a pubber.
It's fucking obvious, like saying "Ronaldinho is better at football than my 14-yo cousin playing with his friends".

I just think it's kinda sad that most people would rather complain about "noobs" and what ranks are "acceptable" when yeah, most people do play the game for fun. I personally lose more and more respect for "pro" gamers because to me, they kill what makes the game fun. When you've got a bunch of your idiot friends all trying to take out a pilot with the M95 and some idiot league player comes along and calls everyone noobs for having a good time, you tell me who the jerk is.

You people can say what you want but in order to get to the officer ranks you already need to have a lot of playing time. Time = Experience so it's save to say a 2LT has a lot more experience then a sergeant. If their skills are more is a different matter all together.
Personally I tend to avoid anything below first sergeant, because of the 30.000 point gap. You go into that rank as a newbie but usually end up promoting being a lot more experienced. Thus that is where I draw the line.

Well, that is probably the most stupid thing Ive heard. I like it how there are so many people who think they so much about TOP yet they don't know shit. You sound like an ignorant kid--seriously where did you get your info??

List-- example of few

Me--part of gamaX^bf2 currently 5th in the ESL league right behind Gamert and Influx.(You guys just challenged us.. )
Elmo-- Part of Gamert Great8-- own at conquest
Gizmo-- fISH, has gone pro with 2142
Frosch-- Deathless

These are just a few-- Oakleaves, Jam3z, Towelly, Terror all>you..

Teddy you're funny! First off none of those players "own at conquest" [HOT] owns at Conquest. [20ID] owns at Conquest.

You fail at infantry. In fact I remember you saying that you could 1v1 one of my teammates on karkand and embarrass him. But once he said that he'd fraps the whole thing, and I'd pull the demo off our server and post it here, you backed out and deleted the whole thread. Care to change your mind?

jrockyourdome is totally right. If you pass up a corporal in a chopper you may be missing someone who doesn't play pubs but destroys everyone in league matches on unranked servers. Of course I'm not so ignorant to believe that's always the case, it's most often not. But for someone like me who's played 5 different accounts, I won't have a "proof of time" rank. But I'm pretty sure I'll embarrass anyone but the higher end competition infantry.

In regard to the High SPM comment regarding Medics. I didn't post those players because of their stats, I posted because of their skill. Slicknic has almost 30% accuracy overall, for just one short example. All the players I posted are accomplished BF2 players, not pub-allstars. And none of those accounts are 2nd lt or better, that was the point of posting them.

Those are all second account players. So technically they would be higher ranked. Pretty much most generals or whatever can make so called "leet" second accounts.

They're CAL players, who don't really play ranked that often. If they did play ranked all the time, with their skill and with their teams, then they'd be high ranked and have nice stats.

Iwas happy when i got promoted 2nd LT. i think in rank you can see a dedicated player , a regular >> Like me !!!
i'm a Captain right now ,dont consider me the best but i feel like a captain now and it feels good having 2 silver bars allthough i do suck  in a few games and my accuracy has been going down for a while (did some switching kitts and finished some in expert ) (somebody know how ! accuracy can drop ... i think i had the best accuracy when i was Spec ops or Sniper ) Engineer and Support REALLY dropped it for me going from almost 20 % to 17,9 % acc.
I think its hard to tell if someone lower ranked is a noob or not since there are players that have 2nd and 3rd accounts ... sometimes im a noob myself Any ways!! LT.'s join the officers bro's you earned it A hooaH!

p.s. if i had some servers added to my favourites where i COULD join EACH day with the same folks in it (like in RTCW or ET i'd kick all your butts !!! True ! True ! True ! and be a G'damned 4 **** General ALL READY !!! D'oh !

Goodluck there ya all

King of the n00bs - last n00b rank, means you already have some experience, know the maps and have some basic skills.
Rank is very important, it shows those things as well as your commitment to the game,

ransk mean nothing anymore.  It used to be officers were good, but now any as$hole can be a officer, so no big deal.

Frankly, i am not impressed with most generals ATM, either.
