So this is what rap videos boil down to? A black guy running from cops and helicopters yelling "Gangsta Gangsta!". This humors me.

That's bad. The fact that guy made even a cent is an indication of where we as a race are going.

If by rap you mean people who are making millions selling "thug" and "party" "music" to tweens, then yes, that is what it is.

Lil Jon, 50 Cent, Eminem, they all make music for 10-16 year olds.  They are soooo hardcore.

You can thank that gay ass "Dirty south" music. If you listen to Nas "hip hop is dead" album you can tell hes referring to the south. And the south music is the only thing playing mainstream radio. All the good rap/hiphop from the west/east is now mostly underground because it gets no airplay.

Well, there is a difference between underground hip-hop and indie hip-hop.

Some people want to get airplay, they are just not there yet.

And then there are people like Immortal Technique, Mr Lif, Def Jux, that just want to be on independant labels or form their own.

I agree, There are rappers like Immortal who want to stay underground and such. But there are several more  rappers that are way more talented then that crappy south rap who get no airplay what so ever. Anyway i just cant stand the south style rap there lyrics are shit and the only reason it even gets air time is because it has a descent beat which is why there always playing that garbage in clubs and such.
