Well, blue cheese is just nasty so you'll probably die from the horrible taste before it clogs your veins. My theory is I'd rather die a bit early and have enjoyed some of the small things in life - artery-clogging red meat and desserts especially.Kmarion wrote:
Given the fact heart disease in the number one killer in America, that blue cheese I put on my salad means I am committing suicide as well with that logic . (I don't smoke nor do I advocate it)
Bubblegum. I've never smoked, but most people I know who've quit said it helps.ATG wrote:

True. Smoking is habitual, mostly because of the repetitive nature. You generally adapt an oral fixation. My friend (someone bluntly) said that he quit by orally pleasing his girlfriend more. Whatever works. Gum, sunflower seeds, anything you can do with your mouth for extended periods of time.im4confederacy wrote:

I know I am not prepared to die.

That's like getting off weed using heroin!CameronPoe wrote:
Incidentally I have a buddy who gave up on cigarettes by weening himself off using snuff.
That is actually a good idea.UON wrote:

In the UK you can nicotine inhalation cartridges on prescription for about 10% of the normal price... don't know how it works in America though...
The good bit is you can even use them were you can't smoke. So I broke the habit of stopping whatever I'm doing for 15 minutes every couple of hours to go out and smoke.... get loads more done.... been a good couple of years since I quit.

You know...with some of the places around, you really have no choice about tobacco, either.ATG wrote:

Freewill is what has a person using tobacco. Bad comparison.
But thanks for the tips.
But most people don't smoke 20 joints a day...Invaderzim wrote:

My point is,u can do it,but just watch for those emotional etc triggers, they are the hard times to not revert to old habbits.
Wow, kind words from Bubbalo.Bubbalo wrote:
I'll grant I'm not a smoker, but even so I'd suggest not trying cold turkey. Apart from the fact that all the experts seem to say it's much less likely to work, it can be dangerous. Keep in mind that you aren't still smoking them because you like them, you're doing it because you're addicted, and suddenly removing the drug from the system can be dangerous. Use something like nicorette.
