Al Gore goes on about peace and saving the planet. If he had got into power he would be in Iraqi and he wouldn't give a toss about climate change either I bet. He has reinvented himself as the lucrative lecture circuit doesn't employ boring pollutions repeating the same old shit. Now he is a Peace prize owning small furry animal loving climate warrior. $$$$$$$$$$$$
edit:yeah I said pollutions, not politicians.

Wow, some people don't seem to like how other people escape from the caricatures they've made out of them. And they don't like it when it goes well with them, oh no. We hate seeing our ex-girlfriends being happy if the break-up was tough. And boy, do we hate it when our ex-next-presidents being successful.

Oh, and no, anybody can't nominate anyone for the Nobel Peace Prize. That is just, what do you call it, wrong?

I think some of the people on this website would never be happy in any circumstance, be it presidency, religion, sex, law, or anything. Bunch of constantly whining babies suckling off the internet tit. Might as well be f'kin emo...

Oops, I am full of crap. The Nobel site says that only certain people can submit nominations. But the list of nominators includes "professors of social sciences, history, philosophy, law and theology; directors of peace research institutes and foreign policy institutes" and I think any of those people can nominate anyone they want. Basically, Gore's nomination means a university professor wrote a letter.

In the case of Gore, more than just a university professor wrote a letter.  A Conservative Member of the Norwegian Parliament nominated Gore -- Boerge Brende.

A conservative interested in environmental conservation...  imagine that.

It seems ironic that most American conservatives aren't interested in conserving anything.

I'm fully interested in conservation, not environmentalism - which has turned into its own religion.  It even has its own militant members that burn and blow up stuff.

Not sure if this is a response to my post, I'll clarify anyway. The point I was trying to make was. Even if Gore had got into power, the lobbyists, particularly the oil and motor industry lobbyists and existing administration he would have been over seeing, would have forced his hand on not reducing CO2 emissions. It could potentially start a downward slope for the US economy if the measures he is calling for now, were actually were put in place 12 years ago. (Cutting of emissions from manufacturing plants etc) No president wants to be remembered for messing the economy. I also believe that Gore would have went into Iraqi too. He would have listened to the strategists; push for the security of the oil and hence the security of the US economy. Thats just my opinion though. Guess we will never know what Gore would have done. I just reckon he wouldn't have acted very different himself had he been in power. Its easy to stand on the side line and say how you would have done it.

Al Gore should STFU.
I give up....  As I've said before, most of the damage from the global warming issue is a slow enough process that most of us here won't see many repercussions in our lifetimes.  Yet, in the pursuit of complacency and decadence, much of humanity would rather sacrifice the future for a comfortable present.

Who knows...  maybe the skeptics are right.  Maybe we have no control over the process or maybe it's not even happening at all.  Maybe it's just a global conspiracy that the majority of the scientific community is promoting.

Only one thing is certain....  Humanity is not likely to last much longer in geological terms because of our stupidity and stubbornness, and quite frankly, I can't say that I mind this prospect.  We are either a very primitive form of intelligent life or a grand mistake made by a semi-divine being.

Al Gore's movie is good...however is it Nobel Peace Prize worthy?

Second thought - what are the requirements?  Is making a movie = Nobel Peace Prize.  I mean did he actually save anyone?

I was in a few plays in college .... does this mean I'm up for the Prize?

Who wants the prize?  I'll nominate you now!!!

Nothing like flying all over the world in your private jet, sailing on your private yacht, and riding on your private tour bus spreading the word of global warming and how THE REST OF US need to do something about it. You go AL! Will you take the private jet or the cruise over Stockholm to receive it?
