Alright I'm just posting it in here, (best helping guys:P)

anyway, my brother bought 2142, not that he will play it a lot byt anyway,

I finally got it working with his account names and whatever, now when he joins a game, he gets kicked by Punkbuster, he gets thrown back to the server list and that punkbuster screen,

its like the silver 2142 style screen with no info what so ever, just with Punkbuster on top

has this to do with me also having 2142 (almost identical Ip's or what )

2 legit 2142's and still shit

thx will try later, he has a "new" pc too, not very new, or very uber good but

Nvidia 7600GT
2gb DDR RAM
500GB

and I have to say, compared to mine I was shocked (2142 on High almost everything) and it loads fast.....

lol slayer you must have no loading time what so ever with yours...

I really need an PC update myself

ok guys, didn't work, well I think I've updated it the right way anyway, I got a screenshot, its with his LEGAL copy of 2142 on his new pc,

(was on my account, but on his we get the same)

he hasn't changed anything with 2142, I've updated PB yesterday

he only got 2142 since yesterday on a new pc (also bought yesterday)

Is he logged into his PC as an Admin or a restricted user account????

Also check that the correct ports are open on his sys to send and recieve Pb tx's

Is your bro able to install software on the PC, or does he have to log in as a "System admin"?

I've been checking out some help forums, most that comes up is Windows Vista,

well its on his pc (where I'm on now)

Vista is new for me, so How do I check the Admin/User thing ?

Edit :

well lets see here, installing 2142 worked fine, anti virus, some sort of LOTR game too...

found the user thing, its says hes Administrator

In short, if you're a restricted user, you shouldn't be able to install anything. Starting an installed game that requires full system admin rights (e.g. BF2 & BF2142) in "regular user" mode or "restricted admin"-mode, might bring up that error message.

Edit: I see you found out that that's not the issue.. Damn wish I could help in other ways than suggesting format C:..

If youre using Vista...it automatically logs you in as a restricted user..

Did he accept the "Terms and Conditions" in the BF2142 setup? Cause when he doesn't do that there is no gaming... so i recommend that he/you have to re-install the game and "accept" the terms etc.

yes I installed it, accepted every term, its strange tho, one 1 server you get kicked after 4 seconds, and on others you can play rounds long....

anyway, Hes Vista Account (if im looking correctly) says hes Administrator so that can't be it.

To run PunkBuster under Windows Vista you will need to run the game as an administrator. To do this, right click the icon you use to launch the game. Select "Properties", then the "Compatability" tab. From that tab, check the box labled "Run this program as an Administrator" and click ok.
We are currently exploring methods to extend PunkBuster to work with Vista without requiring users to run as admin.

Really strange... then update punkbuster manually and if it doesn't work. I don't know. Give the CD back and get a new one or contact EA Support |*Roflcakes*|.

And if you scroll down on the url I posted, there's something about inadequate O/S privileges.
If you read it, you will find a solution I think.

Edit: If you installed the PB update program, you also should run it with the admin-rights.

This could be the problem altough PB displays the "Blocked" message instead of the "Inadequate" one.
