We are going round in circles, why dont we just admit it, that you dont like me and I dont like you and from now on we shall just ignore each other.

Or we can continue fighting on the internet, which is a bit like pissing into the wind, you just end up looking a bit silly.

T Blair has done much in the last 12 years. We aren't killing each other now so, yes the UK has helped to "fix it"

Imagine what socialized medicine would cost our country. . .

This war is PEANUTS compared to that scam. . .
I pay national insurance, as does all citizens, working or not. It is a collective medical insurance policy of sorts run by the government for the entire UK.Hence no profits for big companies. I pay about £300 a year. I haven't spent a night in hospital in my life, but my woman has asthma and  gets her meds given to her. We had a baby a couple of years ago, all covered. Its also reassuring that my medical needs will be looked after as I get older. I am getting my moneys worth. How much does all inclusive medical insurance cost per year in the USA? Genuine question.
I pay far cheaper health care back home than I do here, IE, less than HALF, and I don't have to wait around for some doctor to tell me to go home, I'm fine (when I'm clearly not), and to watch my wife's grandfather DIE because some idiot didn't look at his chest X-ray before they gave him his chemo which caused a raging pneumonia infection which took his life. I pay far cheaper health care costs in teh states, and receive far better care. The bungling idiots that run the NHS have no ability whatsoever to even operate to pull their heads out of their asses. And what about the poor girl I knew in Bedford who broke her collar bone, and the idiot surgeoun was so screwed up the plate he installed to help her collar bone heal actually poked through the skin and it took them 3 MONTHS before they could "fit" her in, the poor girl COUILDN'T EVEN MOVE HER ARM, LET ALONE FUNCTION. Then it was almost a year of therapy to regain the use of her arm back. But hey, it's all free, and covered by the working saps who pay way too high taxes for an inefficient, poorly run NHS that KILLS people on a far more regular basis than what I saw in the states. And for that PRIVELIGE of paying those high taxes, I get INSANELY poor service. And BS to the Labor government "fixing" the NHS problems, they've done nothing, MRSA is rampant, service is as poor and getting poorer, and the working people pay for it all. In scotland, the people wait in lines A MILE long just to register, and they'r recommended to go eveyr 3 years for check ups. Why? becasue they are UNDERFUNDED.

I paid $70 a month for medical insurance back home. That included: Eyes, IE Contact lenses, glasses, checkups, etc. Dental, including 6 month checkups, cleanings, and repairs, mediacl, including hospitalization, surgery, doctor's visits.  here I pay over double that and I get: Dirty hoispital visits, where I wait hours to get seen. Doctors who can't see me for 3 weeks. No Dental work AT ALL, unless it's an emergency, and even then it's iffy. And NO eye care.

As it is, the people in Britatin don't even know how bad they have it, cause they have no idea what real health care can be like. OH, and people who don't work don't pay NHS taxes, cause you can't tax what they don't earn.

hell i've never had a problem with the NHS.

when I broke my arm, I was out the same day with all the treatment I needed.

When they thought I had meningitis, I was treated rather quickly indeed (from what i hear anyway, I passed out and woke up in a ward you see)

My granddad had huge problems with his heart and lungs a few christmas's back, he's still living, and feels healthier than he did ten years before (hes 95)

In fact, I know only one person who the NHS has failed, and that would be a friend of mine whom had septicaemia and died from it.

To be honest, the NHS is on an up, or i've always just had a good hospital

I won't deny there are some terrible ones out there, but the few around me have never failed me or my family/friends.

As a central Floridian I can say some of that would be helpful to help rebuild the 1,500 home we just lost here.

Well, maybe since Florida is so big into breeding horses, some of the rich ranch owners can take all the money going into the Barbero research fund and give it to humans.

Nope.  Don't like it?  Leave the country.  I don't like my money going to welfare and food stamps, but it does.

Exactly, I pay for everything I own!!

I pay for my apt, my car, my bills, my play(bars, games, girlfriend expenses, etc.) I know what it costs to live ESPECIALLY here in beautiful sunny California!!

Its expensive!! The last thing I need is some broke ass liberal telling me what I should spend my money on!! Or better yet, tell me I am not getting taxed enough!! Or that I'm insensitive cause I dont give a fuck about some guy/gal who doesnt apply themselves in life and wants a handout from the government!!

GOVERNMENTS JOB IS TO PROTECT ITS CITIZENS, NOT HOLD THEIR HAND THROUGH LIFE!!
Protect them from diseases, unforseen disasters, etc.

Seriously, there are loads of people who cannot ever hope to financially support themselves due to illness and disability. If you were, for example, a quadriplegic, requiring almost 24-7 care and lacking the ability to do almost all forms of work should the government just ignore you?

On the other hand, what if all the broke ass liberals decided they didn't want their hard earned money being given away to the US military. That'd pretty well cripple the us armed sevices and save absolutely huge amounts of money.

Actually come to think of it. There's roughtly a 50-50 split between democrats ans republicans. Why not make the republicans pay the democrats share of unpkeeping the US military and make the democrats pay the republicans share of keeping social security and welfare going. Everyone's happy then!

Oh and finally. Did you pay for the all the roads, sewage facilities, edication establishments etc. that you've used in all your life? No the government with their crazy tax system did.
