I was playing 2142 wednesday night for a couple hours with no problem. Thursday I switch monitors from the 61" that I was playing on wednesday to a 19" and doublle-click the game icon. The BF2142 image pops up as usual, the screen goes black like usual as if loading the game and changing to the games resolution, but then it just went back to the desktop. No error message.

I reinstalled the game the game twice. Did a system restore. updated to catalyst 7.1 and then reinstalled again and still the same thing. I CHANGED NOTHING from wed. to thurs!!!! WTF happened?!?

Any help is much appreciated, especially if this has happened to you and you fixed it.

The game is probably using the old resolution. Reinstall should fix it.

go back to the big screen and see if it works.

then rightclick on your bf2 shortcut, and go to properties. then go to the target box and change +fullscreen 1 to +fullscreen 0, hook up to the small monitor, and load up. it should hopefully give you an error popup before it crashes. then, you know what to fix.

I have reinstalled 3 times

I have tried in windowed mode but there are still no error messages. I have not tried to go back to the big screen though I should. Although since I have reinstalled so much I don't know if it will run on it now either.

OK, I hooked back up to the big screen after reinstalling in vain 6 times on the 19"
At first it didn't work, but I reinstalled it using the big screen and it worked. I just hooked it back up to the 19" and it still works!

Computers make no sense!!!! WTF happened!?!??!

have you tried updating direct x 9 drivers (or whatever theyre called...) i had that problem when i first installed it.
