I reckon this would negate IED's in Iraq.

Imagine the trillions of dollars we wouldn't have to spend expanding and maintaining  the freeways.

Imagine the 400 billion we've spent in Iraq losing hearts and destroying minds spent on a project like this.

To hell with nation building lets put our efforts into this!

How long will it be before the skies are filled with flying cars?

It's only a matter of time.

They'd definately help with IEDs and Mines like you said.

I'll tell ya, Science Fiction writers were the most brilliant people of all time. They shaped/are shaping our future.

this has been a purchesable item on firebox.co.uk for ages now. I think it may be a joke product. Although the car is real.

I give it a few year

& hopefully by that time they'll have one that goes 500mph & i will be happy

Edit: Plus traveling would be so much easier because if you lived in the middle of the US (me) & they made one that went 500mph (fat chance) people would be able to go to the beach & back in 1 day while spending 8 or more hours there.
& airlines wouldnt be needed anymore because everyone would be flying themselves, 'cept for the peole that can't buy one.

Sorry but posting about flying just has reminded me of something I heard on TV a bit ago.

July 19, 1909 Louis Bleriot flys from France to England in his Bleriot XI plane.

July 20, 1909 Work begins in England on the Anti-Air craft gun. (sorry just a joke)

As for flying cars, you seen the Fifth Element Film at the Beginning, got to say flying cars look like fun.

Further, developers claim that by using eight inexpensive Wankel rotary engines, its price will eventually fall close to that of a quality car, even if at the moment the price for the first units is expected to be close to US$1 million.

Man, from the looks of that video it may not happen in my lifetime.

True. Even if this thing does eventually fly like it's supposed to, the price for one will be about $1,000,000 USD, so it will just be another toy for rich folk.
