Hey guys, just thought I would post this in here to help out anyone who may need it.  Especially anyone who's thinking about the 8800 graphics card that needs 2 PCI power plugs or if you just like to overclock and don't want to drain you main PSU.  The 12v sys is rated at 21a!  If you find it useful, a little karma would be appreciated.

Who needs that thing anyway? Get a high-end PSU

Well,
one - if you don't have the room for a big honken psu
two - your sys will run better overall, especially if you start overclocking.
three - you don't have the money to get a $200 psu and a $600 graphics card
four - your sys wasn't built by you and you can't put in a new psu (IE dell)

1.All PSU's are the same size
2. Err no it wouldn't mean jack shit... it won't make your OC better or your system better...
3.A good quality PSU costs around 100 dollars...
4.If your system isn't built buy you like an OEM, why did you even put a 8800GTX in there in the first place?

1. Not anymore. Look at this big honkin' mother:

2. Taking the load off the main PSU could help, but with new cards being power hogs I don't know if that supplemental unit could handle them.

3. True, but as power requirements go up so does price. If you need a good +500W unit $100 is gonna be the lower end  price point.

4. Custom built is better, but that doesn't mean that a name brand PC can't be upgraded too.

not all psu's are the same size

The more you overclock, the more power is drained from the rest of the system.

This power supply works with your exsisting psu and suppliments the pci power connectors.

It's powered independently from the main PSU.

Well I didn't mean "together".   The main psu powers the card and this one powers the pci connecters.
