The Battlefield

52 ounce jug of water,  chilled to the bone
I'm ready to play, I just got home
PC fires up , the neighbors lights go dim
my neighbor yells "oh crap.. not again!"

Diskeeper is done, PC hums like it's new
I've been playing these games before I had pubes
I hop in server, packed tight with 61
Listen up kiddies, I'm ready for some fun

2 gigs of ram , not a single lost frame
enemies of mine , will certainly be maimed
I sit in the dark with my saitek eclipse
with the back light blue, a keystroke won't miss

The G5 mouse is ready for precision work
believe me when i say 2000 dpi can be a perk
at the flip of a finger i precisely zoom in
my choices light up ,  chest, head , or chin.

I softly take paths that one else takes
strolling the map of mountains and lakes
Hence I increase my chances of never being seen
no errors, no stalls ,  like a  machine

a dark shadow scatters off to the middle- right
reflexes take over, and my shot pattern is tight
2 in the chest, and a round in the head
most don't see me coming, and ones who do are dead

When you see the red dot flash up on the UAV
be aware of your surroundings , I'm very near ..you"ll see
slow crawl in dark shadows I'm your worst nightmare..                                                                                                                                                        ........   twenty two and counting...I'm on a kill tear

I start at the back flag and work from behind
a commanders worst nightmare, because they go blind
with no  UAV , map scan or arty,
I'd like to welcome you personally to this party

I see you limber off with your rusty little wrench
I pull out my knife covered in your friends stench
Nervous and fidgety i see you wrench away
Death is easier to those who pray...

It matters no-more... I'm here to kill
I sprint 8 meters so your blood will spill
two knife jabs in your ribs and the ground turns red
my friends the commander is officially dead

DBTNT (kudos to anyone who can guess the acronym)

Heat around you
Scorching skin
Blazes so cruel
La fin est près.

They fall like hail
Like stones from the sky
Like a meteor shower
La fin est près.

Walls disintegrate
Your company separates
All alone, alone.
La fin est près.

Fear engulfs you
You feel not your wound
Nor feel your mind
La fin est près. Très près.

One last wave
The terror too much
Nothing yet
Nor now -- Nor now
But it is coming
Not yet -- Nor now
The heat returns
The searing pain
Blazing paroxyms
Firey spears
Like a bed of nails
Three hundred beds of nails
No light, no flashbacks
Not even a sound
Just silence is heard
Nothing is found
La fin, c'était près, mais la fin, c'est ici.

ooh i sooo ripped that off my award-winnin' poem
DBTNT: Death By TriNitroToluene? Referring to artillery? Just a guess.

here is a new poem from me. it's nothing like the one the first page, so i don't expect it to be quite so popular. instead of being funny, this is a sort of 4AM drunken melancholy type deal. it's about us gamers/geeks/computer nerds who spend way too much time in front of a monitor.

floyd's irony

you sit in your chair
dreaming a dream
one day you will be the man
you'll be the rose
for all to smell
'cause you'll have done it

but today there's time to kill
so your fingers rest here still
tapping softly in the night
by the glow of the ultrabright
conquering empires with your touch

"for tonight there's naught to do,
why not play some BF2?"
and another night slips by
the work can wait til daylight

in that state of happy stupor
the weeks turn into months and more
your plans all fell by the wayside
now the sun is sinking fast

so you try
and you try
and you try
to keep up but it's too late
for your legs are stiff, your back is bent
you're an old bloodhound without a scent

now you lie at the roadside
laughing at the tears in your eyes
"is this all? i thought it'd be more.
i've many things yet undone."
so you fade in silence
and never got to be the could have been

depressing, i know. now go blow some people up in bf2 and make yourself feel better.

The day is warm and long, the desert air is dry as dust
The pavement cracked and worn, the signs are eaten up by rust,
My squad and I traverse the sky en route to rain some lead,
When suddenly the server lags, and we all end up dead.

Our respawn point is camped by tanks and gunners; that's just great.
We quickly find another spot to hide and lie in wait
What do I see? The MEC is coming round the bend--
No wait! The red tag bug...too late, looks like I shot my friend.

Let's take the Blackhawk over to the main and use C4!
We'll blow their UAV and watch the pieces hit the floor,
Our pilot is a noob it seems, and rather gifted too;
We smash into a palm tree, leaving greasy bloody goo.

We try again, our nerves now frayed, frustration now has started,
We've lost all but one capture point, our team must be retarded.
It's time to turn this game around, refine it to perfection,
And then we'll...um...oh crap! --(there is a problem with your connection)....

I'm not
ashamed,
I've know
love,
I've known
rejection,
I'm not afraid to declare my
feelings.

Take trust for
instance,
Or
friendship,
These are the important things in
life,
These are the things that
matter,
That help you on your
way.

If you cant trust your
friends, well, what then?
What then?

Oh, yes. I believe in
friends. I believe we need them. But if one day you can't trust them any more, well, what then?
What then?

This could have been any City,
They're all the
same.

Air Support

Enemy advancing
Defenses crumbling
Our position overrun
The end has begun

Men are dying
Many are crying
Numbers too great
For us to take

An engine roars
A rumble is felt
We run to the shores
Dragging men by the belt

Radio's dead
Our numbers few
When over our heads
An angel flew

A whistle fills the air
We run for cover
I dive down the stairs
Right after my brother

A blast is heard
Destruction is sensed
Our vision blurred
We remain tense

Silence follows
As we hide in the hollow
We stand once again
And count out our friends

We look up in the sky
As the bird flies by
He tips his wings in salute
And disappears, looking for something to shoot

As I crest the hill what do I see?

A squaded up group of the MEC enemy!

A quick little tap from my M203 and what do I see?

I *&%#@ Missed and hit a tree!

As I ponder my aim, on how I made this tree go blammo!

I start yelling at my support guy to give me some MAfukin' AMMo!

Christmas time - quiet time.
And time to catch up with the beautifulest BF2 situations.
Folks, listen to me as (& sorry for my decent English):

The frustrated rookie

No matter where you spawn,
no matter what ya do,
there`s always somebody.
the bit faster than you.

Approach to the flag,
unnoticed, as it seems,
10 sec later,
you`ll be ripped by some teens.

So picked up next armor,
but next time you stopped,
the chopper from behind,
is blowing you up.

Keen on a relaxing trip,
done as nice fragging party,
just taking the sniper kit,
be immediately killed by commander`s arty.

Calling a taxi, slamming the door,
another lucky Spec-Ops
ignites his C4.

Live`s fortune has gone,
during this play,
I dedicate this shame
to Dice and EA !

Tis more of a general gaming poem than bf:

The n00b he killed

"Had he and I but met
At some cool cyber cafe
We should have sat us down to pwn
Right many a n00b!

But ranged over seas,
He in China, I Congolese,
I clicked at him as he did at me
I owned him in his base.

I shot him dead because -
Because he was a T,
Just so - a T of course he was;
That's clear enough; although

He thought he'd connect perhaps,
Randomly like - Just as I -
Was a lazy git - had been so bored -
No other reason why.

Yes; quaint and curious gaming is!
You shoot a n00b down
You'd treat if met where any cafe is,
Or help to half-a-credit."

Oh, i'm so bummer

Wait, wait i see a red tag

The battlefield, a place Ive been for years.
The battlefield, the memories still bring me to tears.
I killed many and laughed at their despair
Switching teams, did not care for what was fair.

I knew it had to come
I heard it happend to some
Never thought it would happen to me
An end has come to my killing spree.
I left the battle months and months ago
Dropped my gun and bailed the show.

Settled down, paid attention to my wife
Now I'm back to bring this thread back to life!

It's my belief that although there are quite a few viewings of this thread, many are to afraid to post, fearing retribution, name calling or other diminishment for daring to write poetry.
