The concept of an ideal Society seems impossible to reach.  But how would that society be for you?  You can describe it for your own country or globally.

My Ideal Society:
1-The needs of all who live within it are met.
2-Religion is allowed but it's a personal matter, there's no Organized Religion.  Each person believes in whatever he or she wants, without any higher authority telling you what to believe.
3-Persons are judged for their actions, not their beliefs, choices, values, ideals or race.
4-Politicians work for people not for their own agendas.
5-The environment and ecology are priorities for everyone.
6-Capitalism is the main economic system, but the Government takes care of Health, Education, Justice and Social Security.
7-EA makes games without bugs and glitches.
8-Freedom of Speech ends when one individual endorses crimes against humanity.

The United Federation of Planets from Gene Roddenberry's Star Trek

=   Material things no longer carry the value they once did due to the proliferation of replicators which leads to an extreme excess of material wonders.  People can still make things on their own and sell them, but such things are not in terribly high demand due to the replicator's ability to replicate any design.  Creativity becomes the main human occupation.

=   With this material excess people no longer see the need for greed, and instead of working for the maximum profit, they work toward the betterment of themselves and others.

=   With the goal of the individual being happiness and betterment instead of profit and material possessions, and the encounter of alien cultures, the human race as a whole embraces moral convictions that define the best of humanity.

=   With the advent of faster than light travel, humanity is free to reach out to the stars, to explore strange new worlds; to, through exploration, gain a better understanding of themselves.

It is a tough question...

I think I like it the way it is here in Finland at least.....
I mean, changing something would lead to this and that and suddenly everything would be like hell....
If I tried to create my ideal society we would have anarchy in no time...

So maybe I will leave it as it is!!!

There's no such thing as an ideal society. We know that, since communism failed.

The perfect society is an enigma.  See Thomas More's book Utopia.

A perfect communism is an ideal society, but the human race will not allow a perfect form of communism.

For example, there will always be leaders that take over and have more power than the common worker.

That's all well and fine...except the corrupt officials and unrepentant butchers that are always cropping up. Also, bullshit was called on humanity's "evolved" state of mind in First Contact.

The Federation's almost as bad as the Borg when it comes to assimilating alien cultures.

I guess I can answer this anyway I want - right? It is a just a hypothetical;

My ideal Society (Kinda Dr. Strangelove inspired):
1.) Me living in it.
2.) Me free to think whatever I want, irregardless of whether I publicly say "I believe what you believe, Praise God!"
3.) Less men - a 3 to 1 ratio - of (good-looking) women to men.
4.) Carbs make womens breasts/nipples nicer to look at, improves the roundness to a max. Double-D limit.
5.) Carbs don't make FAT, they simply provide needed energy - else they are discarded at a max. 10-15% body fat limit.
6.) All female nipples point forward (very important).
7.) Lesbianism does not naturally occur, it is a philosophy of how to spend time - while I am not around.
8.) Of course there is no such thing as man-boobs.
9.) Money actually grows on trees - that are easy to find.
10.) Work is rewarded with more work; or more challenging work - not with that easy to find money tree.
11.) Since there will be so many healthy natural slim women - I think men should be reasonably decent looking as well, well-endowed and posses a natural positive attitude.
12.) Children spontaneously assemble into fully formed human beings that live a thousand years then burst into flames.
13.) Change of heart, skip the "free to think whatever you want"; since you're fully formed, you're also fully educated and fully realized - so you will only possess a minimum of ignorant beliefs.
14.) No war & minimal violence.
15.) People can only die on their thousandth birthday - or by accident - if they are into REALLY EXTREME SPORTS.
16.) Living in, with & preserving nature - is EASY.

A partial list - I guess.

Government is minimal, only serves to take care of things that private business can't, like highways, justice and also keeps a small force for self defense.

Laws are simple, basically anyone can do what they want so long as it doesn't interfere in someone else's life.

Politics shouldn't matter as the governments impact is minimal.

Not much opportunity there.

I agree with most of the OP but I would not like to see government take over health care. It would kill competition and lower the competitive nature that creates the uber leet Doctors we have today .
