I am liberal and work 50+ hours in a 5-day work week.

How about you?

My household takes two adult college educated incomes to function properly and efficiently while supporting two kids.

How about in Europe? Australia?

Just want to get some comparison.

If you live with mommy or daddy, don't bother.

37.5 hours a week. 25 annual leave days a year excluding about 10 national holidays. I can work up an additional two days of annual leave on flexi-time if I want. Working for the government FTW!

thats alot !!! here in Canana its 40hrs per week MAX then its over time and they pay you half-time.... Nway in quebec its like that... but i think its the same in all Canada

Well I'm in sales on a commission based job so I'm technically always working. The amount of time that I spend in the office a week is usually about 20 give or take, but I don't get a salary or no gaurentee's so I guess I"m a bad judge. So far I've made 12k this year.

I do a full 40, some times a little more when needed, but they are pretty tight with OT, so I rarely work more than 40.

50 hours a week mon thru fri 6 am to 5 pm (we have encouraged overtime) 7 to 5 when i'mnot in school
+12 college credit hours

6 paid sick days
10 paid vacation days (15 next year)+ all major holidays paid (thx givng, xmas, new years, labor day ..etc)

Once i get out of school i will probably work for the National Geospatial Intelligence Agency. So it will al change then (gov't benefits ftw)

I'm a student, I do 40 a week during the summer holidays, more if required (time and a half or double time if I work long enough).

When I'm studying my income is effectively capped, as if I earn over a certain amount its taken off my student allowance at the rate of a dollar off per dollar of excess. Even still, I'll get the same amount in the hand as a temp doing a 40 hour week at work.

I share a house with 3 other guys so that helps keep the costs down. I only need $150 (100US) to pay my rent, power, phone, net, food etc in any given week, so I don't have to work a hell of a lot really.

I generally start work at about 6;30am and finish around 7:00pm. Sometimes I have Tuesday off and on the rare occasion I have a Wednesday as well, but the rest of the week is all work. When you consider I am on a salary, that makes my hourly rate pretty pathetic. The good aspect though is that sometimes I get a few hours off in the middle of the day and can clock up some BF2 time. Four weeks annual leave (had that for several years now as opposed to most of the work force who now all get it). I also get 5 days a year sick leave, but as I haven't taken a sick day in over 10 years, the point is pretty moot on that one.
Crazy thing is, I enjoy my job. Go figure.

I spend maybe 50-60 hours a week in the office and on site, but I am thinking about my work 24/7. Always take Sunday off for my boy. I am putting my lady through university with no outside funding and supporting a kid too, child care etc. We don't want for anything, building a house ATM too so paying £800per month on that too. I work hard to have the lifestyle we have. It will all ease off when my lady finishes her PhD/doctorate and I can sit back a bit and see my kid more.

To have holidays, a good standard of living and a good house you need two good incomes to live in the UK comfortably.

A year and a half ago I was putting in an average of 80-90 hours a week. About once a month I'd put in about 110 hours in a week, including a 40 hour day (ie, Monday morning through Tuesday evening).

0 hours currently = no $ = me --> If I did right now I could only work a max of 20 hrs because I'm full-time at college. In the summer it varies... last summer I got about 25, sometimes less, sometimes more.

I work 50 hours a week.
9 hours a day Monday to Friday, 1 hour is time and a half each day.
5 hours on Saturday, 4 hours time and a half, 1 hour double time, any more would be double too.
If I worked a Sunday it would all be double time.
20 day holiday a year, and a van, so I get to work for free.

During normal conditions i should be working four 10 hour shifts, however working next to a Native American Reservation it turns out to be four 14 hour shifts because people can seem to understand the concept of committing crimes before midnight. It always happens at about 2:30 AM when my shift ends at 3:00Am, but i can't complain getting 16.00 an hour and 32.00 hour for every hour of overtime plus 8 hours payed during any government recognized holiday regardless if i'm scheduled to work or not.

I survive on my income being a Divorced father of one.

Fuckin Child support, atleast I didn't get raked through the coals....
