Please join in and voice your support for the two border agents who begin serving 11 year prison terms today.
Mr. Bush, how could you let this happen.

The failure to enforce the security of our borders is treason. The debacle in Iraq pales in comparison to the outrage of the border. The people that still support you are the very same people who expect action at the Mexican border. Soon, even the Texas rednecks will be demanding justice.

This whole thing is a load of bullshit.  I mean, sometimes it just defies logic all together.  At least, it defies logic until you think as an American politician.  They're taking a page out of the book for American businessmen.  If you can't get cheap work here (in this case new votes), then you have to get them from somewhere else.  Everyone who's already here has already picked a side, so the politicians have taken to the people down south to try to tip the balance.  The politicians are only thinking about their own ascension to power, and if it requires the screwing over of the American people to do it, so be it.  Our politicians care only about themselves, which has led to our current immigration policy which is anything but.  I mean, the National Guard running away from a bunch of thugs????  What the hell is that all about???  They have those people down there, but they don't give them guns.  If you want the national guard to be in uniform, and be the national guard, they have to have guns... period.

Can someone explain to me why the US government doesn't care about the porous southern border? Because it really puzzles me.

I think the U.S needs all those illegal immigrants to do all the shitty jobs that normal people wouldn't even dream of taking.

A common answer but completely wrong.  They do not do jobs Americans won't do, the employers would rather pay someone very little money and no health care than pay an American.

Why didn't the conservatives do something about it when they were in power for the last 12 years?

No.  This policy goes back so many years, neither side has a clue how to fix it.  But liberals calling for water stations by the border does not help things.

Bush has sold out every troop he ever sent to Iraq by allowing them to stand trail and be jailed for performing a duty he ordered them to do.  Why would anyone think that he would be any different toward the border patrol agents.

All I can say is support impeachment of the President if you don't like what he has done.  Pretty bad when the US gets 2 presidents in a row that deserve impeachment because of their willingness to sell out America for their own gain.  The fact that nothing happened to either of them goes to show how corrupt our government is.

At least Bush is uniting the country with a common goal, to remove him from power.

It's a travesty of justice is what it is.  I can't imagine a case where a drug dealer, which was caught with 750#'s of marijuana, is allowed to go free because a border agent shot him in the ass.  Furthermore the two agents which shot because the drug dealer was becoming uncontrollable and attempted to flee, thus the shot in the ass.  This judge and jury should be sent to jail.  This case should have never gotten this far.

i like the Canadian/American border... seems pretty secure to me... just look at that imposing chunk o steel nobody wants to mess with that... part of the issue stems from it being boasted as the largest unprotected border in the world, you know with all that freedom and all

Uh, the idiots in jail today starting their term MURDERED someone..and didn't report it. Am i wrong?

Is the message that the border now has an achilles heal in the form of more careful border patrol agents worse than the message to cops that they can get away with murder...and not reporting it?

Someone please clear this up for me before I jump on this bandwagon of support.

I'd read it. I like to laugh. Maybe Anne Coulter could do the foreword and Hannity can do the intro.

You are wrong. He was wounded.

Article on it here. First thing I found on google so I cannot be sure of it's bias. If you have more reputable source, please post it.

What are you referring to in Iraq?

As for this whole debate over the agents, I'll wait until more details surface. I don't see any political reason for the administration to scapegoat two patrolmen, but from what it sounds like the agents had the right to fire.

Well, you basically have two sides, and usmarine2007 covered them both.  The conservatives tend to support big money and big business.

I recall the US government saying that US military guards "tortured" Iraqi prisoners by stacking them in nude piles and allowing dogs to bark at them while pictures were taken.  This lead to US servicemen being jailed.  The US has spent tons of resources second guessing and investigating the actions of US troops in Iraq.  The Presidents lack of commitment to the use of overwhelming fire power to destroy insurgent strong holds has cost many US troops their health and lives.

This is just another political war.  One with self imposed rules that hamstring our military until they become little more than cannon fodder for the enemy.  Bush released the dogs of war with their muzzles still on.

This is just as stupid as National Guard on the border without any weapons.  I see the pattern Dawg.
