Then why did I have to do extra work looking for where you got that quote? Not to mention I found the speech and it isn't in there.usmarine2007 wrote:

Well there is a spell check feature now. Anyway, that second quote means nothing to your argument. Religion does not always parallel spirit. You can be fanatical in your views without having them be religious.usmarine2007 wrote:
No need to be a smart ass. I provided you the source where it came from, if you want to, look it up yourself.
Here is another one.
"Any violence which does not spring from a spiritual base, will be wavering and uncertain. It lacks the stability which can only rest in a fanatical outlook. [Adolph Hitler, _Mein Kampf_, p. 171]"
It's not my job here to look up your facts to see if they are true, you should always cite your sources.
Extra work? I didn't think I was at a Harvard debate.SysTray wrote:

It doesn't have to be Harvard level, but some intelligence and effort would be nice. Did I mention I didn't ever find that first quote?usmarine2007 wrote:

NO, now I'm calling you a terrorist! The Bartenders Son wrote:
Should we be governed by a "world government", with the United Nations Assembly becoming a directly elected parliament? Should nation-states give up more of their sovereignty to supranational institutions?. . .
UN Should go move their HQ, to France, they will fit in better over there! Down with the UN!
Not saying you did, I want you to show me where you found it though. I know you don't sit at your house and memorize speeches by (in)famous dictators...so cite a source, eh?usmarine2007 wrote:

All wars are caused by political or economical reasons. Religion is just one way to justify a war to the ignorant masses. Take away religion and you'll find other ways to manipulate the people. For example, you could make up lies about WMDs or take advantage of an invisible enemy, as in "a war on terror", to invade any country. Just examples...usmarine2007 wrote:
Yes I do. Religion has been the base of ALL wars. The Bartenders Son wrote:
Don’t you find that ironic for peace to happen or (The world to come together) we must get rid of religion…usmarine2007 wrote:
Unless you get rid of religion...............nope.

oh shut the hell up with your pathetic quibbles about religion already

Such a great contribution to the thread and the forum section in general. I guess you think debating in the debate section is just uncool.SargeV1.4 wrote:

That quote is cited in multiple places, but I cannot find the whole speech. I will look later tonight.
The intelligence thing wasn't meant to be an insult, sorry. It was more a general label that sometimes things are said in this forum without thinking.usmarine2007 wrote:

No
EU is a better example, well the only actually, of a Super Organization which has its members reduce to an extent their sovereignty.
As for the UN, its a poor example and only under article 7 does it ever act in unanimity on certain actions other than that its just recommendation aka not really something countries need to do.
World governments....well perhaps we should work on getting countries governments to work better before we start jumping into "world" governments...in due time it will come just not in anyones life time.
