improved weather studies, Hundreds of thousands of people have their jobs linked one way or the other to NASA, Cellular tech, TV tech, oh yea and Velcro. Disbanding NASA is disbanding a humans natural desire to explore. For the most part people have no clue on how much we have benifited from NASA and the improvements to our quality of life here on earth.

Now, go look up every failed mission by NASA, how much it cost, and then look up how much the investigation of the failure of NASA cost. Then tell me taxpayers like hearing about billions flushed away into space.

Nah. If we take it for face value, it means that after 100k miles the bumpers will fall off and the booster engines will need a complete overhaul. The blue book value will also depreciate astronomically, and as long as we don't put any firestone tires on it.....

NASA don't deny it. They say it is the biggest threat to human civilisation short of a super volcano or a meteor hit.

NASA is big. A large proportion of their funding goes in paying salaries to Americans.

Most cable "networks" use satellites. I think you misunderstand this. (Havent you seen the news vans .)

Weather-We are are not just talking about global warming. I mean c'mon do I really have to go into all this..lol Forecast, sea temps, big freaking rotating hurricanes headed right for me.

Medicines and Medical Devices-just an example Texas Children's, NASA develop new heart monitoring control room

Jobs-All this new technology helps to create jobs in the tech industry. For example the

require people to manufacture and sell to the consumer. Again, just an example off the top of my head. This is where the financial benefits come full circle. Consider all the taxes on products that have been derived from this technology.

And the Velcro was a joke. I guess you guys never saw Men in Black .

I work about a mile from JSC NASA Clear lake. I used to work on sight for an Optometrist, now I work for the Doctor with the DOD contract for NASA employees. The local costumer base is comprised of mostly families who have a member working for, or contracted by, NASA/JSC.
