Technically, according to the Bible, Jesus was the son of God, not God himself. He was born to a virgin mother in whom God planted the seed for the child to be born.
Genesis 1:26 - "Then God said, Let us make man in our image, in our likeness . . . "

John 1:1, 14 - "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." "The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us.  We have seen His glory, the glory of the One and Only. . ."

John 10:30 - "I and the Father are one."

Hebrews 12:2 - "Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right had of the throne of God."

Which half of the world did he shape 2000 years ago? His influence certainly didn't reach India, Russia, China, most of Africa, or any civilization in the western hemisphere until several hundred years later. You can't seriously consider parts of the Middle East and eastern Europe as half the world.
EVieira said "the world we know today".  And you feel you can state with certainty that no Christians exist in India, Russia, China, and Africa?

That Jesus shaped almost half the world we know today with just words, and this some 2000 years ago when there weren't things like mass media, is undoubtely an accomplishment that hasen't been topped yet. That he made people beleive in him so much as to face lions in Roman arenas is also pretty darn impressive. Those roman times were alot of fun, we don't have things like that much more...

The way I read this is "Of the world we know today, Jesus shaped half of this 2000 years ago". And give me a little credit, there are Christians in every country of the world now. My post said that Jesus's influence didn't reach most of the world until long after his death.

Evidently he was (or would've been) a pot-smoking liberal socialist hippy preaching peace (amongst other things that only pertain to that day in age), by today's standards.

Understood, fair enough.  I've heard it said that over 80% of communication is non-verbal.  If that's true, we're kind of handicapped here in the forums with only 20% on hand. Agree?

Wow lots to think about, but I think he was a little god like and more man reason being god sent him for a reason to show that ifJesus a human like the rest of us could hurt, laugh, be jealous, and experience temptation and still follow the path to heaven, showing us that Just because we are human doesnt mean we cannot walk the right path.

He had the ability to allow others to see reality, just as much as Buddhist monk can alter the pattern of a rain drop with mere thought.

How do you perceive the world but through your own thoughts no one else's so he chose to be able to do all that he wanted so hey he brought it into existence, what's to stop you from doing it? Nothing
